The Opportunity  

Embry-Riddle Student Recruitment is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as the Assistant Director of Student Recruitment (ADR). The ADR is responsible for regional recruitment, outreach, public relations and marketing to meet enrollment goals for their designated region/market. This person provides civilian and military prospective students and leads with relevant information regarding University programs and services and next steps towards enrollment through virtual, phone, email communication. The role oversees and supervises assigned Regional Recruitment Counselor(s) (RCs) to ensure territory performance and goals are met and evaluates the effectiveness of all recruitment and engagement activities and events.

The ADR will be responsible for developing a regional strategy to represent the University in a variety of forums to meet and recruit prospective students, promote programs, establish contacts at local, regional and national industry, college, transfer and military fairs. This person will select, plan and execute event attendance, and conduct University presentations regionally to individuals and groups of prospective students and businesses, both in-person and virtually.

The ADR fosters relationships with appropriate contacts to include, Education Service Officers (ESO) (where applicable), Human Resource Managers, Training Managers, and Enrollment/Marketing liaisons, as applicable. This role also works closely with other departments to ensure coordination of all recruitment and admissions activities and ensures that all University policies and procedures are enforced.

This is a remote role and moderate travel is required. Please note that due to staffing needs, this position is open to all candidates currently residing in or planning to relocate to any of the following states: CT, DE, DC, IN, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, OH, PA, RI, VI, VT, WV.

​This position will require travel time away from the office. May work evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications

• Proven track record for consistently meeting deadlines with the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations and maintain composure under pressure, often under tight deadlines.

• Must be a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic individual with professional recruitment experience in higher education.

• Must be able to provide excellent customer service to coworkers, staff, students, faculty, and customers.

• Must demonstrate exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must demonstrate a high standard of personal conduct, professionalism, and integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality is vital.

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a willingness to seek guidance and direction as necessary for the performance of duties.

• Must be able to recognize and deal with priorities, recognize, and perform duties not directly assigned.

• Must be able to investigate, problem-solve and take corrective action.

• Moderate travel required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree

• Marketing/advertising experience

• Prior experience in higher education administration, marketing, and/or counseling

• Aviation experience

Requirements to be able to drive a university vehicle:

• Must possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license.

• Must meet the University’s standards for approved drivers. Unacceptable driving records (as stated in the Use of Equipment and Vehicles Procedure 1.17) include the following (for three years from the date of each occurrence):

  • Three (3) or more at-fault accidents and/or moving violations in the previous 36 months.

  • Two (2) or more at-fault accidents or two (2) or more moving violations in the past year.

  • Conviction for driving while impaired (DWI, DUI within the last five (5) years).

  • Conviction for death by vehicle, hit and run, racing, careless and reckless driving, implied consent in the previous five (5) years.

  • Serious violations result in immediate disqualification and revocation of driver privileges. The following are examples of serious violations​:

  • Speeding over 15 mph of the posted limit, driving under the Influence of alcohol or drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless or careless.
