About the Role:

This role will be a key member of the finance team, directly supporting the senior finance accountants and contributing to compliance and integrity of accounting and tax compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Primary Responsibility: Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with Mexican accounting standards (NIF) and US GAAP, ensuring adherence to best practices.

• Prepare, review, and ensure compliance of invoices and their electronic payment receipts according to Mexican Tax Laws, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

• Serve as support for both customer and internal inquiries, providing follow-up on accounting matters.

• Collaborate on preparing responses to tax authorities’ invitations.

• Prepare tax reports and files to support tax refunds.

• Electronic accounting filing.

• Retrieving Compliance Letters from local authorities (SAT, INFONAVIT and IMSS).

• Support Finance senior accountant to prepare working papers for Annual Income Tax returns.

• Follow- up with insurance companies to retrieve warranties and finalize administrative processes.

• Support statutory audits, ensuring necessary documentation is prepared and available.

• Audit travel expense reports in compliance with Mexican tax laws, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tax regulations and company policies.

• Prepare meaningful accounting reports that provide insights into financial performance and assist in the decision-making process.

• Utilize mid-level Excel tools, pivot tables and formulas, to streamline processes.

• Maintain and enhance knowledge of Oracle Financials and other relevant accounting systems, ensuring effective utilization in daily operations.

• Perform other related tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to team objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience in US GAAP and MEX GAAP.

• Minimum of 2+ years of work experience in Financial Accounting with a focus on general accounting and tax matters.

• Mid-level accounting skills and basic knowledge of financial reporting.

• Advance written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish.

• Proven investigative research and analytical capabilities, with a strong attention to detail.

• Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel (including macros).

• Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, related field or years of experience.

• Experience with Oracle Financials or similar financial systems; experience with COI and E-factura are a plus.

• Experience with SAT website and social security portals.
