NeoWork is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our client’s accounting team.

The Accountant will manage full-cycle monthly bookkeeping for client accounts, including recording transactions, performing reconciliations, and reviewing balance sheets and P&L statements to identify discrepancies.

This is a remote role that operates within a virtual desktop environment, with QuickBooks Online as the primary accounting platform. The Accountant will work closely with the accounting team under the direction of the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage monthly bookkeeping, from transaction recording through account reconciliations.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Review balance sheets and P&L statements to identify irregularities or inconsistencies.
• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online.
• Follow established SOPs and adapt to new processes and workflows.
• Communicate accounting issues and discrepancies to the Accounting Manager.
• Handle financial and personally identifiable information (PII) responsibly.
• Follow basic cybersecurity and data security practices.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
• Proven experience in monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and irregularities in balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Typing speed of 50+ WPM with proper capitalization and punctuation.
• Comfortable working in a remote virtual desktop environment.
• Willingness to follow established SOPs and adapt to new processes.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity and responsible handling of PII.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Experience with Xero.
• Experience using Claude.
• Experience using Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience supporting remote or U.S.-based accounting teams.
