Core Technical Expertise:
Security Systems: Mastery of Physical Access Control Systems like S2, Lenel S2, Hirsch, and cloud-native platforms like Verkada. Proficiency in Video Management Systems including Genetec, Axis Camera Station, and the Brivo/Eagle Eye Networks ecosystem.
Design & Modeling: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential for creating detailed MEP layouts and 3D security models.
Professional Qualifications:
Experience: A bachelor’s degree in, Engineering, or a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in security system design or related field experience.
Business Tools: Workflows emphasize efficiency through Salesforce for CRM and ServiceNow for service management.
Core Technical Responsibilities
System Architecture: Designing integrated solutions for physical security, including IP-based CCTV/Camera systems, cloud-based management platforms, and biometric or credential-based Access Control.
Technical Documentation: Authoring project specifications, producing detailed reports, and conducting on-site surveys to verify field conditions.
Drafting & Modeling: Developing 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in Revit. You will be responsible for creating floor plans, wiring riser diagrams, and mounting details that show how technology integrates into the building's shell.
Coordination: Attending design meetings with architects, MEP, engineers, and general contractors to ensure security hardware does not conflict with other building systems.
Project Lifecycle Involvement
Pre-Construction: Collaborating with Sales Engineers to define the initial scope of work and assisting the Estimating Team to ensure material and labor costs are accurate for large-scale bids.
BIM Management: Utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) to work in a collaborative environment for concurrent design and optimize the placement of devices. (The firm provides specific training for our BIM development standards).
Quality Assurance: Conducting design reviews to ensure the final design complies with local building codes, life safety regulations, and client-specific security requirements.

Wachter is accepting applications for a Physical Security Estimator in Mount Laurel, NJ.
The ideal candidate is responsible for pre-sales support, system design, drafting a bill of materials, requesting distributor quotes, organizing pricing of equipment, and applying standard labor components to bids which shall include the following disciplines: Physical Security (IP Video Surveillance, Access Control) and Network Engineering a plus (switch/route wireless).
An incumbent in this position will also assist with pre-sales opportunities by working with sales engineers to draft proposals. Should be comfortable to act as a technical resource for discovery and information gathering for physical security on client calls. Should possess the ability to work with MS Word and Excel. Should be able to determine if additional information is needed to develop a solution that meets the customer's requirements. Needs to understand voltage limitations and lock types. A good understanding of Video surveillance (pixels per foot) and how to calculate retention time. This is Full-time Monday- Friday, 8 am-5 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Systems Engineering and Sales Departments in developing technical Solutions that meet customer requirements.
Maintain current knowledge of the equipment and technologies he/she supports by attending training provided by the manufacturer.
The ability to read and understand RFPs, technical drawings, and technical requirements for IT-focused projects.
A good methodical approach to tasks, ability, and interests to learn new technologies.
Will be required to continue to learn new physical security solutions (Video surveillance and access control) and as a plus an understanding of electrical limitations with respect to physical security.
Self-motivated, able to meet deadlines and maintain quality of work under pressure.
Qualifications and Experience:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma is required.
2 or 4 year college degree in Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, or MIS a plus.
A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Proficient written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals.
Ability to effectively present technical information to prospects and existing customers, peer employees, and managers.
Experience in technical and Proposal writing is a plus with an understanding of professional client-facing documents.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and high proficiency with Word and Excel.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A few Vendor specific certifications from manufacturers such as Milestone Systems, S2, Axis Cameras, and/or Lenel are required (E.G.: MCIT, Axis Certified, (CCNA and CCNP a plus)).
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
