About the Calyx Institute

The Calyx Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization that defends digital privacy, advances connectivity, and strives for a future where everyone has access to the resources and tools they need to remain securely connected.

The organization focuses on three areas of work: 1) building and maintaining a privacy-respecting ecosystem of FOSS, centering on CalyxOS; 2) offering hands-on tools through the Calyx Internet Membership for people to access the internet easily wherever they are; and 3) supporting internet freedom through grantmaking, research, education, and community capacity building to help the public make informed choices about their online lives.
