We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Contracts Manager to lead and oversee contract management activities across multiple construction projects and Contract Managers. This role is responsible for driving consistency, rigor, and excellence in contract lifecycle management, change management practices, and risk mitigation across the portfolio.

Unlike project-based roles, this position operates at a regional/organizational level, providing leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise in contract interpretation and commercial strategy. The Senior Contracts Manager will mentor and develop Contract Managers, establish best practices, and ensure alignment with company standards while partnering with executive leadership, project teams, and legal.

This role requires deep expertise in complex construction contracts, including significant experience on large-scale projects ($100M+), and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Contract Managers supporting multiple projects.
• Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and drive professional development and training initiatives.
• Create standardized processes, templates, and tools for contract and change management across the organization.
• Conduct regular reviews of team output to ensure consistency, quality, and contractual compliance.
• Build organizational capability in contract administration, documentation discipline, and claims prevention.

Contract Strategy & Interpretation

• Serve as the subject matter expert in contract interpretation, providing guidance on complex commercial and contractual issues.
• Review and interpret prime contracts, subcontracts, and key amendments to identify risks, obligations, and strategic opportunities.
• Advise project and executive leadership on contractual rights, exposures, and entitlement strategies.
• Provide oversight on dispute avoidance and resolution strategies, including support for claims development and defense.

Process & Organizational Excellence

• Establish and enforce best practices in document control, contract administration, and documentation defensibility to promote consistency, completeness, effective and efficient organization, version control, auditability, and accessibility.
• Ensure project teams consistently meet contractual notice provisions and compliance requirements, including identification, documentation, and execution of changes.
• In conjunction with project teams and Change Management team, guide development of change order narratives, delay analyses, and claim documentation.
• Drive consistency in reporting, dashboards, and tracking of contractual risks and obligations.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance contract management processes and tools.
• Ensure alignment of contract management practices with corporate standards and legal requirements.

Risk Management & Commercial Support

• Proactively identify contractual and commercial risks across the project portfolio and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Project Controls, Legal, and Risk teams to align contract strategy with cost, schedule, and legal considerations.
• Support executive decision-making with insights derived from documentation trends, claims exposure, and compliance gaps.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Serve as a key liaison between operations, project management, legal, Change Management team, and executive leadership.
• Facilitate portfolio-level contract reviews, risk assessments, and lessons learned sessions.
• Provide training to project teams on contract awareness, documentation standards, and risk mitigation strategies.

We are seeking a Contracts Manager to support the commercial and contractual management of complex construction projects. This role plays a critical part in change management, contractual compliance, and risk mitigation, working closely with project leadership, field teams, project controls, and legal/risk partners.

The Contracts Manager brings field awareness, professional judgment, and disciplined documentation practices to ensure contractual obligations are met, entitlements are preserved, and project risks are identified early. Contract & Change Management

• Review prime contracts, subcontracts, and change order procedures to identify notice requirements, milestones, and compliance obligations.
• Track and manage project documentation, including change order requests, change orders, delay notices, claims, RFIs, submittals, payment applications, and formal correspondence, ensuring timely and contract-compliant submission.
• Maintain structured logs and dashboards to track contractual status, deadlines, deliverables, and potential risks.
• Draft and coordinate professional correspondence with owners, subcontractors, and consultants in collaboration with Project Management and Legal.
• Proactively interface with project teams to identify scope changes, cost overruns, delays, and other risks requiring formal contractual action.

Document Control & Defensibility

• Establish and manage project document control systems to ensure organization, version control, auditability, and accessibility.
• Implement and enforce documentation standards for correspondence, drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change-related records, and other project documentation.
• Ensure documentation supporting change orders and claims is complete, consistent, and defensible.

Commercial & Strategic Support

• Coordinate with Project Controls on cost and schedule updates, enabling early identification of performance trends and potential claims.
• Support development of change order narratives, time impact analyses (TIAs), and claim documentation.
• Provide insight into contractual and commercial risks based on documentation trends, compliance gaps, and field conditions.
• Assist Project Managers and Executives in preparing materials for internal and external reviews.

Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Serve as a liaison between field operations, project management, project controls, and legal/risk functions.
• Participate in or lead recurring contract and documentation review meetings to track priorities, compliance status, and emerging risks.

As a Manager - Change Management, your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead change management efforts, including day-to-day engagement with project team, and change order tracking.  Assist with project communications with client, narrative development, and quantification of cost and/or schedule impacts.

As a Change Management Analyst, your key responsibilities will be:

• Collect and organize project data: schedules, cost reports, daily reports, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, time sheets, logs, etc.

As a Change Management Senior Analyst, your key responsibilities will be:

• Review and analyze collected project data to determine trends, information captured, potential information gaps, etc.
• Perform and oversee document review efforts to identify relevant issues, including delays, disruptions, or other impacts.
• Develop parts of the claim analysis (cost, schedule, entitlement) under manager guidance. Assist with or oversee performance of cost analysis, such as discrete change pricing, labor/equipment inefficiency, productivity loss, cumulative impact breakdowns.
• Develop and prepare exhibits, graphics, and supporting documentation for claims and change order requests. Distill large volumes of project data into concise factual narratives and/or graphics.
• Assist with development of delay analyses (TIA, impacted as-planned, as-built vs as-planned) with scheduling experts.
• Coordinate with project teams to understand project data to determine methods to quantify cost/schedule impacts of change.
• Assist with drafting narrative portion of change orders and claims.
• Provide coaching, oversight, quality control, and talent development for analysts.
• Attend project meetings and capture notes when needed.
• Perform research tasks (e.g., industry standards, contractual clauses, past claims, benchmarks).
• Understand contractual requirements and assist Project team to ensure requirements are met.

As a Change Management Senior Analyst, your key responsibilities will be:

• Review and analyze collected project data to determine trends, information captured, potential information gaps, etc.
• Perform and oversee document review efforts to identify relevant issues, including delays, disruptions, or other impacts.
• Develop parts of the claim analysis (cost, schedule, entitlement) under manager guidance. Assist with or oversee performance of cost analysis, such as discrete change pricing, labor/equipment inefficiency, productivity loss, cumulative impact breakdowns.
• Develop and prepare exhibits, graphics, and supporting documentation for claims and change order requests. Distill large volumes of project data into concise factual narratives and/or graphics.

As a Change Management Analyst, your key responsibilities will be:

• Collect and organize project data: schedules, cost reports, daily reports, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, time sheets, logs, etc.
• Perform initial document reviews to identify relevant issues, including delays, disruptions, or other impacts.
• Conduct analyses to support change requests, such as quantity takeoffs, cost comparisons, data entry, timeline mapping, daily report compilations, etc. Support senior staff in schedule, cost data extraction (e.g., pulling updates from Primavera P6, cost systems), and other change order/claim preparation efforts.
• Assist in preparing exhibits, graphics, and supporting documentation for claims and change order requests.
