GoDaddy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on automating and maintaining our storage infrastructure with a focus on Ceph, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems.
What you'll get to do...
- Automate and maintain day-to-day operations of storage systems to support application demands
- Develop and maintain tools and automation scripts to streamline storage operations and improve efficiency
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability
- Participate in agile concepts such as daily stand-up meetings, task tracking boards, design and code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment
- Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and capacity through proactive monitoring, automation, and optimization
Your experience should include...
- 2+ years of professional experience with Ceph, working in a production environment
- 2+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or a similar role
- 2+ years of professional experience with Ceph, including deployment, configuration, and management of Ceph clusters and systems
- Experience working on Linux/Unix systems, with a focus on automation and operating at scale
- Proficiency in Python or Bash
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or SaltStack
- Experience with Nagios-based monitoring tools, such as Icinga2
- Experience with observability tooling, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, and Loki
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts and protocols, particularly in relation to Linux/Unix systems

You'll architect and build software that ensures the reliability, scalability, and performance of databases supporting both corporate applications and customer hosting services. You'll be developing tools and services for potentially the biggest WordPress fleet in existence, building software that manages infrastructure for over a million databases.
What you'll get to do...
- Design and develop automation tools and services in Golang to streamline database operations, improve efficiency, and support application demands across 50+ teams.
- Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices to enhance automation capabilities and enable seamless integration with database infrastructure.

- Partner closely with software engineering and cross‑functional teams to design secure, scalable, and future‑ready database architectures aligned with long‑term business needs
- Establish, document, and maintain security standards, operational best practices, and performance optimisation strategies for MSSQL workloads, including troubleshooting using tools such as Extended Events
- Lead database deployments, upgrades, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and complex troubleshooting efforts, ensuring SLAs are consistently met across environments
- Build, automate, and optimise database infrastructure and operations using scripting, automation, and emerging technologies (including AI‑enabled agents), covering server builds, storage configuration, and SAN integrations
- Contribute as a reliable team member by managing work through Agile/Kanban tools (e.g., Jira), collaborating with vendors, and participating in a shared 24×7 on‑call rotation to support business‑critical systems
Your experience should include...
- 4+ years of hands‑on experience administering MS SQL Server (2014–2025), including working in fast‑paced, mission‑critical environments
- 2+ years of experience with high‑availability and resiliency technologies such as Always On Availability Groups, Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC), and MSSQL Transactional Replication
- Strong technical foundation in T‑SQL, PowerShell scripting, Windows Operating Systems, and RAID, with the ability to automate and optimise database operations
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues end‑to‑end, lead troubleshooting efforts, and consistently drive work to closure under pressure
- Experience working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with clear, effective communication and adaptability to change
- 1+ year of experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Kanban boards for tracking work, priorities, and delivery

- Mentor junior team members and participate in on-call rotations to maintain system reliability and operational excellence.
Your experience should include...
- 7+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS, both in cloud-native and agnostic capacities.
- 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE/Fargate, etc.).
- 4+ years of expertise in Linux administration.
- Strong coding skills in languages such as Go, Python, Ruby etc.
- Strong experience in coding infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, CDK, etc.).
You might also have...
- Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts, version control systems, and testing tools (e.g., Jenkins, Gradle, Maven).
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases, especially MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Verified background in developing and maintaining distributed infrastructure and systems.
- Solid understanding of networking principles and a strong dedication to cybersecurity guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure.
