What you will do:

• Record monthly rent expense and relief of ROU asset and liability accounts in accordance with ASC 842
• Enter monthly activity to Deltek Vantagepoint for payment of rent and building expenses for DLR Group offices
• Verify annual reconciliation of operating costs received from lessor
• Maintain and initiate new lease activity in lease accounting software
• Be a resource for internal and external stakeholders as questions arise related to leases
• Partner with the Firm’s real estate and insurance brokers, along with internal leadership, on the details of new and terminating leases
• Apply understanding and give guidance related to the role of deposits, rent abatement and other lease transactions
• Participate as part of a team for daily deposit management for assigned accounts
• Record and research deposits by Project Accountants
• Assist with completion of general account reconciliations as needed
• Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with general ledger input and schedules as needed.

 Required Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.  
• Previous experience in a role with multiple property leases and recording entries consistent with the requirements of ASC 842

• Research payment discrepancies and stay informed of accounts receivables issues.

Consultant Management:

• Review consultant invoices for project leader approval and enter in Deltek Vantagepoint with appropriate GL code.

DLR Group is seeking an Enterprise Controller to lead, evolve, and continue elevating our corporate accounting function. As a trusted partner to the CFO and key member of the financial leadership team, you will oversee all aspects of technical accounting, financial reporting, compliance, tax, and treasury while strengthening internal controls and driving process improvements to support the firm’s growth. This role is ideal for a hands-on, strategic leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building high-performing teams, optimizing accounting operations, and ensuring financial accuracy and integrity across the organization.

What You Will Do

• Take ownership of the corporate accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and treasury operations
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and best practices
• Oversee the month-end close process, proactively manage all audit activities, and prepare periodic and full-year financial statements and supporting schedules
• Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, advisors, consultants, and banking partners
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy
• Oversee billing, invoicing, payments, and collections while maintaining robust controls around the movement of funds

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 10 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, ideally with 5+ years in architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) or similar in the professional services industry
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
• Strong expertise in GAAP, technical accounting topics (ASC 606), and financial reporting standards
• Experience overseeing core accounting functions including general ledger, reporting, compliance, and treasury operations
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or related industry
• Background in public accounting or experience working with large, complex organizations
