Senior Technical Account Manager - EMEA

The Role: We are looking for a customer-centric Senior Technical Account Manager (TAM) with a direct focus on our largest enterprise customers. The TAM is a technical professional who helps optimize Aiven’s customer experience and accelerate time-to-value when using Aiven’s Open Source services. You will act as a single point of contact and customer advocate, providing direct access into Aiven business functions such as Support, Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Executive Staff.
What You'll Do:
- Build Relationships: Help customers succeed by building successful relationships throughout the entire customer journey.
- Technical Strategy: Develop a deep technical understanding of the customer’s business priorities, operational models, cloud architecture, and technical initiatives.
- Operational Advisory: Maintain awareness of customer operations to assist with operational planning and risk management, acting as an advisor for deployments.
- Cross-Functional Advocacy: Act as a conduit into Aiven’s Sales, Support, Engineering, and Product Management teams to represent customer interests.
- Operational Reviews: Conduct regular reviews on incidents, field advisories, security vulnerabilities, and root-cause analysis.
- Sales Collaboration: Participate in sales account planning and support account penetration and pipeline growth strategies.
- Travel: Travel up to 10% of the time to meet with customers.
What We're Looking For:
- Technical Expertise: A deep conceptual and hands-on understanding of Apache Kafka and at least one of the following: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or OpenSearch.
- Consulting Background: Proven experience in technology sales, pre-sales, or technical consulting.
- Development Skills: Fluency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Ruby.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Knowledge of public clouds (AWS, Google, or Azure) and experience with Linux operating systems, networking basics (DNS, VPC), and relational databases.
- Communication: Excellent presentation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate technical requirements to both customers and internal Product teams.

The Role:
As an Inside Sales Representative (ISR), you will drive predictable, repeatable revenue growth by acquiring new customers and expanding usage within rapidly scaling technology companies generating 1M-100M in annual revenue, focusing on high-velocity, high-volume transactions. This segment represents the critical scaling phase where companies are professionalizing their data infrastructure, moving from tactical solutions to strategic platforms.
This is a high-velocity, quota-carrying role focused on new logo acquisition and baseline usage expansion across a defined EMEA territory by targeting scaling technology companies across Digital Natives, AI scale ups, Fintech, B2B SaaS, Digital Commerce, and Industrial Tech sectors. There are clear success metrics: 10 closed new logos annually with an average deal size of 30K ARR, while generating 1.2M in qualified pipeline per fiscal year. This is a hunter role focused on high-volume, full-cycle sales, with a primary focus on hunting for new logos in our PLG inbound engine and supplementing these with self-sourced and sourcing from scale up events.
You will engage Scale Up C-Level, Director and VP-level stakeholders across technical and business functions (VP Engineering, Director of Platform, Head of DevOps, Director of Data Engineering), positioning Aiven as the strategic open-source data platform that enables their next phase of growth. What You'll Do:
Own Complete Pipeline Generation:
- Generate 100% of your pipeline through hunting for new logos in our PLG inbound engine and supplementing these with self-sourced and sourcing from scale up events.
- Qualify 4-6 opportunities per month (average size of 30K ARR) using rigorous MEDDPICC framework.

Drive New Logo Acquisition:

- Rigorously qualify all opportunities using the MEDDPICC framework to ensure high-quality pipeline.
- Maintain complete MEDDPICC documentation in Salesforce for every qualified opportunity.
- Accurately forecast with 85%+ commit accuracy and execute on quarterly sales plans.
- Manage high-velocity sales cycles of typically 60-90 days.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with Solution Architects on technical validation and proof-of-concept management for qualified opportunities.

Territory Planning & Market Insight:

The Role
As the Content Strategist, you are the editorial voice and narrative lead for Aiven. You create high-impact stories tailored to two distinct audiences: the Developer/Architect and the Senior Executive/CTO. You are responsible for the entire content lifecycle: from high-level strategy and mapping the buyer journey to hands-on finessing of technical copy. You will collaborate closely with domain experts (Engineers, Product Managers, DevRel) to translate complex infrastructure topics into compelling, authentic stories. We are looking for a modern storyteller who can leverage AI to scale production while ensuring our output remains deeply technical, authentic, human, and free of marketing fluff.
Key Responsibilities
- Persona-Driven Content Mapping: Own the matrix of "Who, What, and Where." You will define which topics, language, and medium (Blogs, Whitepapers, Videos, Code Snippets) are required to move a Developer through a trial and a CTO through an enterprise deal.
- Manage a high-velocity calendar that balances user content (how-to guides, performance benchmarks, API documentation) with executive content (ROI studies, POV topical pieces, industry thought leadership).
- Partner with Aiven’s domain experts to extract their knowledge. You will take raw technical drafts and polish them into high-value assets, ensuring the language is sophisticated enough for an engineer but accessible enough for a busy leader.
- You will use LLMs to rapidly brainstorm angles, draft outlines, and transform a single technical interview into 10+ multi-channel assets, from a LinkedIn thread to an executive summary.
- Partner closely with the Product Marketing team to internalize core messaging frameworks and value propositions. You ensure that every piece of content is a consistent reflection of the Aiven brand and product strategy.
- Lead the transformation of raw customer case studies and success stories into multi-format assets. You will find the human and technical win in our customer data to create evidence-based content that builds trust with prospects.
- Ensure our content lives in the right format for the right persona and in a centralised place.
- Use data to identify where our persona coverage is thin. You will proactively commission or write content to fill gaps in the buyer journey that are stalling deals or trials.
Ideal Candidate:
- 4+ years in content strategy or technical editing. Proven experience in B2B Infrastructure, Cloud, or Open-Source a major plus. You must be able to "talk shop" with engineers and product managers.
- Experience working with Product Marketing messaging frameworks to create cohesive, unified content journeys.
- You can clearly articulate the different motivations of a user vs. a buyer. You know that they care about different things and have different pain points.
- You have a natural ability to spot marketing fluff and replace it with technical substance and real-world evidence.
- You use AI tools as a force multiplier to scale content without sacrificing the soul of the technical narrative.

The Role
As the Global Events Manager, you are the lead producer of Aiven’s physical and virtual brand experience. You don't just book booths; you architect high-impact environments that cut through the noise of the industry. You are a master of high-velocity project management, capable of juggling a diverse portfolio from large 3rd party conferences (AWS re:Invent, Kafka Summit) to intimate 1st party Aiven-hosted events (Customer Advisory Boards, User Roadshows, Annual Sales Kick-off). We are looking for a high-agency, creative powerhouse who will dive deep into Aiven’s value proposition and personas to ensure every event is perfectly aligned with our audience. You are a natural brand ambassador, as comfortable managing a construction vendor as you are welcoming a CTO to our lounge.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of Aiven’s global event portfolio, encompassing 3rd party industry trade shows and 1st party proprietary programs.
- Own the "Aiven Experience" for our internal and external 1st party events, including Customer Advisory Boards (CABs), Aiven’s User Conference, localized Community Roadshows and our Annual Employee Kick-off.
- Go beyond the logistics. You will study our core personas (Developers, Architects, CTOs) and our internal culture to ensure every event, from a technical user conference to an internal summit, is tailored to the specific audience.
- Develop out-of-the-box concepts that make Aiven the most talked-about brand on-site. You aren't afraid to take risks to ensure our physical presence reflects our status as a market leader.
- Lead end-to-end execution for multiple concurrent events globally. You are the source of truth for timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring zero loss in quality under pressure.
- Act as a proactive host on the event floor. You will learn Aiven’s high-level value prop to comfortably engage prospects, qualify their interest, and facilitate seamless introductions to our technical and sales teams.
- Direct a network of global vendors and boutique agencies with high standards. You ensure every asset, from a sticker to a 40x40 booth, is Aiven Gold Standard.
- Partner with Revenue Marketing and Ops to ensure every event has clear, measurable goals. Set performance targets, own lead capture, and deliver impact reports that quantify ROI, pipeline influence, or customer expansion to guide future investment decisions.
Ideal Candidate:
- 6+ years in tech event management. Proven experience running both large-scale trade show presences and high-touch proprietary events (User Conferences/SKOs).
- Proven ability to track and report on funnel impact. You are comfortable analyzing ROI and making evidence based recommendations on where to invest the event budget.
- Obsessive attention to detail. You have a "one-inch-off-is-wrong" mentality, spotting small errors in seating charts or booth graphics before they become problems.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments and are a power user of project management tools and processes to keep multiple plates spinning.
- A track record of thinking laterally to solve problems and create unique, un-missable experiences.

The Role
Aiven is a global technology company providing an open-source data and AI platform across all major clouds. What You'll Do:
- Drive New Business: Identify, target, and win new enterprise logos in the Nordic region, focusing on organizations with $500M+ in revenue. Lead the full sales cycle from initial outreach and value proposition through negotiation and closing.
- Expand Strategic Accounts: Grow revenue within existing enterprise customers by uncovering new use cases, upselling additional Aiven services, and increasing commitments beyond baseline usage. Develop strategic account and demand plans to maximize value for both the client and Aiven.
- Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships at the C-suite and VP level, as well as with leaders in development, DevOps, and product management. Challenge the status quo of customers’ current data infrastructure and inspire a vision for how Aiven’s platform can drive better business outcomes.
- Solution Selling & Value Articulation: Become an expert in Aiven’s platform and the open-source technologies we offer (Kafka, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Clickhouse and more). What We're Looking For:
- Enterprise Sales Excellence: 5–10+ years of success in enterprise SaaS or cloud infrastructure sales, selling complex technical solutions to large organizations. A proven track record of overachievement against multimillion-dollar targets is required (e.g. President’s Club or top 10% performer).
- Strategic Deal Maker: Demonstrated ability to close complex, consultative deals with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders. Experience engaging senior technical (CTO, VP Engineering, Architects) and business leaders, with an emphasis on solving strategic challenges rather than just pushing products.
