AIRBUS offers an internship (curricular practicum) program aimed at students who are in the last year of their degree with the main objective of acquiring professional skills through the development of a project in the company.
 

What do we offer?:

Internship (curricular practicum) program + Bachelor’s Degree Final Project (TFG).
 

Mission:

You will prepare a final year training project that will allow you to complete your official studies.
 

About practical training:

• 6 months of curricular practicum at AIRBUS from February to July 2027
• Part time: 5h / day - 25 hours per week (8h-13h)
• Tutor assignment for continuous monitoring

Final project (TFG) to be carried out by the student:

Recent advances in engineering capabilities and especially on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are contributing to a significant acceleration of the overall aircraft design process. This opens the door to a wider use of CFD for the aerodynamic and multi-disciplinary optimization of novel aircraft technologies, reducing the overall design time with a greater accuracy. The aim of this internship with an associated Bachelor’s Degree Final Project (TFG) is to establish structured methodologies for the overall aircraft design capabilities including aerodynamic simulation and analysis of critical aircraft configurations. The selected student will work on integrating different CFD approaches to the overall aircraft design toolchain with special focus on determining their viability for design in industrial timescales. A particular example will be the use of GPUs in CFD computations. These methodologies will be used to guide an overall aircraft design optimization process using high fidelity CFD results.

The Flight Physics Technology and capability development group at Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a highly motivated student that will support the development and testing of advanced simulation technologies for aircraft design and optimization. The student will have the opportunity to learn how to set up complex aerodynamic simulations for realistic applications with both in-house and commercial CFD software (such as ANSYS Fluent). The candidate will also have the opportunity to improve their optimization knowledge and coding abilities. These are highly applicable and demanded skills in the aeronautical and other engineering fields.

As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Studying degree in Aerospace Engineering
• English: min. level B2 (C1 desirable)
• Spanish: min. level B1
• General knowledge in overall aircraft design, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and programming
• Skills valued: ANSYS Fluent, CFD simulation, Python, optimization
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team spirit and great collaboration skills
• Ability to work in international environment
