Your New Role
The People & Culture (P&C) Partner is a key member of the Warner Bros. Studios Japan (WBSJ) P&C team, supporting both employees and the business across a diverse and dynamic workforce. Based at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo (Toshimaen), this role provides strategic and practical P&C partnership, balancing business priorities with being an employee champion while helping WBSJ remain an employer of choice.
You will partner closely with business leaders and the broader P&C community locally and globally, providing solutions across employee relations, performance, development, organizational effectiveness, and other people's priorities. We are looking for a positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented self-starter who can think strategically while effectively delivering P&C initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Partner with the P&C team and business leaders to manage and resolve a broad range of employee matters, including employee relations, performance management, conflict management, coaching, development, retention, and compliance, working with Talent Leaders, People Solutions, People Relations, and Employment Legal as required.
- Provide proactive advice, coaching, counselling, and training to managers and employees, helping to create and maintain an inclusive, respectful, and safe work environment.
- Interpret and support the implementation of P&C policies, practices, and procedures for managers, teams, and employees, ensuring alignment with business priorities, company values, and applicable requirements.
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including Talent Acquisition, Employee Connections , Total Rewards, and Business Managers across Japan, APAC, the UK, the US, and other markets.
- Use data, metrics, and visualization to develop insights, presentations, charts, and other materials that support effective P&C and business decision-making.
- Lead and support P&C initiatives and special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Substantial Human Resources experience, including hands-on experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and providing advice to managers and employees.
- Knowledge of Japanese labor law and compliance, with strong critical-thinking, judgment, and business advisory skills and the ability to balance business and employee needs.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience within a multinational, complex global matrix organization.
- Experience supporting a diverse workforce or working within a retail, customer service, or other large-workforce environment
