The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Warrior Complex Registration Analyst provides WWP program registration assistance to warriors with adverse information or risk factors requiring special review, research, investigation, and evaluation of their personal situations to determine eligibility for WWP programs and assistance.


 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review military-related documentation to evaluate accuracy of eligibility criteria. Identify any risk factors (such as less than honorable discharge, adverse narrative reason for separation, etc.).

  • Communicate with Warriors and family support members regarding eligibility documentation and to obtain additional information required to address risk factors identified (either from military documentation or due to discovery of adverse information).

  • Conduct background investigative research on individuals to identify any adverse information including arrests, convictions, jail terms, and probation terms, by using search engines and searching online legal public records, federal court records, state and local court records, offender registries, and other appropriate public information sources.

  • Confirm the accuracy of any adverse information.

  • Prepare detailed and complete summary of adverse information based on objective analysis and evaluation of research.

  • Complete interviews with Warriors and family support members to gather further details and facts regarding their military service and/or justice involvement. Prepare detailed and complete interview notes.

  • Complete interviews with Teammates and, possibly, third parties to gather further details and facts regarding individuals’ military service and/or justice involvement and prepare detailed and complete interview notes.

  • Complete final review package for presentation to management by organizing investigative materials in accordance with established procedures. As appropriate, make recommendations regarding status of individual.

  • Communicate regularly with individuals under review and management to keep them apprised of the status of the investigation.

  • Interview internal stakeholders to obtain additional information regarding individuals’ engagements with the organization.

  • Meet with internal stakeholders (e.g. C3, CSRP, and Talk teammates) to update them about program initiatives and pilots.

  • Manage an assigned caseload of Warriors and family support members requiring review.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation in Salesforce and any other related software.

  • Present training to teammates on complex registration and status review processes.

  • Consult with teammates regarding Warriors or Family Support Members who are in the complex review process or who may need to go through the complex review process.

  • On occasion may have requests from leadership for emergent public records searches outside of normal operating hours.

  • Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated understanding of criminal justice system terminology and legal terminology.

  • Strong investigative skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize effective verbal probing techniques to obtain information.

  • Strong research skills. Demonstrated ability to use the internet to obtain personal data that is public information.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate information effectively.

  • Effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse individuals and build effective working relationships.

  • Demonstrated understanding of WWP programs and services offered to wounded warriors.

  • Demonstrated understanding of military culture and veteran issues.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using appropriate etiquette when responding to mail, email, and phone.

  • Accurate data entry and typing proficiency and skills. Demonstrated ability to timely and accurately maintain data in a Customer Relationship Management system such as Salesforce.

  • Strong computer skills. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office.

  • Good organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively. Effectively complete assignments and meet deadlines.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Three years of experience working in law enforcement, the criminal justice system, or in a legal environment as a legal assistant or a paralegal.

Preferences

  • Three years of online research experience.

  • Three years’ experience working with veterans or family support members.

  • Two years of experience working with Wounded Warrior Project.

  • Bilingual Spanish and English verbal communications skills.

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Associate degree in criminal justice or paralegal studies, or related field. Equivalent combination of experience in law enforcement, investigation, or a legal environment may be substituted for degree.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURE

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain ASIST Certification within 1 year of hire.

Preferences

  • ASIST Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office environment. temperature controlled.

  • Sitting for extended periods.

  • Up to 5% travel.
