Our Headquarters are located on the Torrey Pines Mesa, in La Jolla, California at the center of the biotech hub. Our Manufacturing facility is in Sorrento Valley.

 

Position Summary:

As an Warehouse Operator, you will be a vital member of the Supply Chain team, directly supporting instrument and consumables manufacturing operations. In this role, you serve as a primary owner of inventory accuracy, data integrity within NetSuite ERP, and material traceability.

Beyond daily cycle counting and inventory control, you will actively manage inter-site material transfers using company vehicles, support shipping/receiving operations, manage non-inventory purchasing logistics, generate assembly Work Orders, and drive strategic warehouse space optimization. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Warehousing, Planning, Procurement, and Finance to safeguard inventory precision, prevent supply disruptions, maintain a high standard of safety, and support continuous process improvements. This position is onsite, 8am-4:30pm first shift, and reports to the Manager, Supply Chain

Responsibilities:

• Receiving & Inbound Material Handling
  • Unload incoming freight, truckloads, and container shipments safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect inbound goods against packing slips, purchase orders, and specifications to verify quantities and check for visible damage.
  • Execute system receipts and log incoming inventory accurately into the ERP system (NetSuite).
  • Stage, tag, and route received materials to appropriate stock locations, inspection areas, or production lines.
• Order Fulfillment, Picking, & Packing
  • Review picking lists and select items accurately using standard operating procedures and RF scanners or barcode software.
  • Pick, pack, and label customer orders, kits, or internal requisitions with high attention to detail to prevent errors.
  • Stage finished shipments in designated loading zones and assist with safe loading into outbound transport vehicles.
• Inventory Control, Site-to-Site Transfers, & Truck Runs
  
  • Execute systematic site-to-site inventory transfers, ensuring materials are accurately picked, staged, documented, and transacted between facilities or internal locations.
  • Conduct routine truck runs between company sites to safely deliver inventory, parts, supplies, and miscellaneous items according to scheduled routes.
  • Perform cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and location audits to maintain high stock accuracy.
  • Adhere to First Expired or FIFO stock rotation principles, monitoring lot tracking and expiration dates where applicable.
  • Process material adjustments, scrap/non-conformance disposition movements, and other inventory transactions within the system.
• Safety, Housekeeping, & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace by applying 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Operate material handling equipment (such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts if certified) safely and inspect equipment prior to use.
  • Comply with all company safety guidelines, traffic and transport regulations, and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational reviews to streamline floor workflows.

Qualifications: 

• Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution center environment.
• Licensing: Valid driver's license (required for operating transport vehicles on asset transfer runs).
• System Literacy: Comfortable working with warehouse management systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools and barcode scanning technology.
• Prior experience with RF-Smart and asset management systems a plus
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy materials (frequently up to 50 lbs) throughout a standard shift.
• Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Certifications: Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus.

The estimated base hourly range for this role based in the United States of America is: $20.55 - $26.25.  Additionally, this role is eligible for to receive equity as part of the compensation package. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Should the level of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly.
