  • The role combines broad private investment valuation expertise with end-to-end management of the Valuation Team's.
  • The Vice President will partner with business unit valuation teams, investment teams, finance teams, senior management, auditors, third-party valuation specialists, and vendor leadership to deliver accurate, timely, well-controlled, and scalable valuation processes and related analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual valuation processes across all Finance Portfolio Management business units, adapting the approach and deliverables to the investment strategies, asset classes, and governance requirements of each business.
  • Build, review, and maintain valuation models in collaboration with investment teams and finance teams, while coordinating with third-party independent valuation specialists where applicable.
  • Apply and promote valuation best practices, including compliance with ASC 820 Fair Value guidance and applicable internal valuation policies and procedures.
  • Perform and review analyses that incorporate relevant transaction structures, valuation methodologies, financial models, market data, comparable companies or transactions, appropriate proxies, reserves and valuation adjustments, and relevant accounting, regulatory, and risk considerations.
  • Review portfolio company dashboards, portfolio summaries, liquidity analyses, company performance metrics, valuation analytics, committee materials, and other recurring or ad hoc deliverables prepared by junior team members and offshore vendors.
  • Analyze and formally communicate key valuation results, judgments, issues, exceptions, and risks to senior management and relevant valuation committees.
  • Support LP, stakeholder, and management reporting by maintaining reliable company performance metrics and valuation analytics on centralized platforms.
  • Support year-end and interim audit valuation testing, including coordination of valuation models, supporting documentation, data requests, and responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, controls, standardization, automation, and other scalable solutions across business units and vendor-supported workflows, with a particular focus on AI and agentic related solutions.
  • Lead special projects and ad hoc analyses based on the needs of senior management and Finance Portfolio Management leadership.

Offshore Vendor Management:

  • Own the end-to-end operating model for valuation deliverables from planning and work allocation through execution, review, issue resolution, approval, and final delivery.
  • Translate business requirements into clear vendor work plans, procedures, templates, calendars, service expectations, quality standards, and escalation protocols. Review and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate deliverables across internal business unit teams and offshore vendor teams, ensuring that responsibilities, dependencies, inputs, due dates, and review requirements are clearly defined.
  • Monitor vendor capacity, staffing, training, knowledge transfer, workflow status, timeliness, accuracy, and completeness, with particular focus on month-end and quarter-end execution.
  • Establish and maintain quality-control and management-reporting routines, including deliverable tracking, review evidence, issue logs, root-cause analysis, remediation plans, and performance metrics.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day escalation point for vendor delivery issues; drive timely resolution and elevate material risks, recurring deficiencies, or capacity constraints to appropriate internal and vendor leadership.
  • Lead vendor governance forums and periodic performance reviews, and partner with internal stakeholders to continuously improve service quality, controls, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Maintain effective documentation of vendor-supported processes, procedures, roles, controls, approvals, and business continuity arrangements.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead people activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, and team culture, and actively support the careers of junior team members.
  • Provide clear direction, technical coaching, and timely feedback to internal staff and offshore vendor resources.
  • Promote consistent standards, accountability, collaboration, and effective knowledge sharing across a multi-business-unit and multi-location operating model.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Progress toward or completion of a finance-related professional qualification, such as CFA or CPA, preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of private investment valuation and the application of valuation methodologies across a range of asset classes and investment strategies.
  • Strong understanding of financial instrument valuation, financial modeling, market data, and risk measurement in complex product areas.
  • Demonstrated experience managing outsourced or offshore service providers, including workflow oversight, quality control, issue management, performance monitoring, and senior stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, competing priorities, and deadline-driven monthly and quarterly deliverables across business units.
  • Strong leadership, judgment, and organizational skills, with the ability to establish accountability across teams that do not all report directly to the role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex valuation matters and escalate issues clearly and concisely.
  • Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and collaborative, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
