The Opportunity

As a Value Added Tax (VAT) Senior Associate, you will provide advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex indirect tax regulations and optimize their indirect tax positions. As a Senior Associate, you will focus on building meaningful client connections and learning how to manage and inspire others. You will navigate increasingly complex situations, grow your personal brand, and deepen your technical skills. You are expected to anticipate the needs of your teams and clients, and to deliver quality work. Embracing increased ambiguity, you will be comfortable when the path forward isn’t clear, using these moments as opportunities to grow.

In this role, you will work within our Tax practice, focusing on value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax, and other indirect taxes. You will use a broad range of tools, methodologies, and techniques to generate new ideas and solve problems. Your work will involve interpreting data to inform insights and recommendations, and upholding professional and technical standards. This position offers a chance to develop a deeper understanding of the business context and how it is changing, while contributing to the firm's overall business strategies.

Responsibilities

- Providing strategic advice on value-added tax (VAT) and other indirect taxes to optimize client tax positions
- Navigating complex tax regulations to assist clients in compliance and planning
- Collaborating with clients to develop tailored indirect tax strategies
- Analyzing tax data to generate insights and recommendations for client engagements
- Utilizing digital tools and methodologies to enhance tax service delivery
- Managing and mentoring junior team members to foster professional growth
- Building and maintaining meaningful client relationships to understand their needs and expectations
- Engaging in continuous learning to deepen understanding of indirect tax and related fields
- Upholding professional and technical standards in all client interactions and deliverables

What You Must Have

- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 2 years of experience
- Before starting full-time at PwC, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment (Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity).

Job Posting End Date

The salary range for this position is: $77,000 - $214,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
