The Union Maintenance Assistant supports the Engineering and Maintenance Department by performing routine building maintenance, preventive maintenance, and general facility support duties. Working under the direction of senior engineers and maintenance personnel, this position assists in maintaining building systems, equipment, and common areas while ensuring safe, clean, and efficient facility operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and committed to learning maintenance and building operations within a union environment.
Shift: Monday - Friday | Day Shift
Payrate: $25.19 hourly rate | Weekly pay
Location: Santa Ana, Ca

General Maintenance
Assist with routine maintenance and repair activities throughout the facility.
Perform building inspections and report deficiencies to supervisors.
Complete assigned preventive maintenance work orders.
Assist with minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, air filters, and other building components.
Support painting, patching, and general facility upkeep projects.
Facility Operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms, maintenance shops, and work areas.
Transport tools, equipment, and materials throughout the property.
Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and special events.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Support snow removal, grounds maintenance, and exterior building upkeep when required.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Vocational or technical training in building maintenance, construction, mechanical systems, or related field preferred.
Experience
Previous maintenance, construction, janitorial, facilities, warehouse, or trade-related experience preferred.
Entry-level candidates with mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
