Emery Sapp & Sons is seeking hardworking and safety-minded Underground Utilities Laborers to join our heavy civil construction team. This position assists in the installation of underground utility systems, including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, drainage structures, and related infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, and drainage systems.
- Work in and around trenches while following all trench safety requirements.
- Load, unload, and transport pipe, fittings, tools, and construction materials.
- Assist pipe layers, operators, and foremen with utility installation activities.
- Use hand tools, power tools, laser levels, and other construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Help with excavation support, bedding material placement, backfilling, and compaction operations.
- Install utility structures, including manholes, catch basins, and drainage inlets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
- Assist with traffic control and site preparation activities as required.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
Required:
- Ability to perform physically demanding construction work.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
