Role Synopsis
The Treasury Operation Analyst is a direct contributor to Treasury Operation objectives, supporting the immediate team and wider organisation through timely analytics, reconciliations, cash forecasting, issue resolution and control activities. The role works closely with Group and local Treasury, Cash & Banking, Finance, Business and regional collaborators to ensure efficient, compliant and reliable delivery of treasury operations services across bp.
The role includes performing and supporting sophisticated cash and banking activities, including bank reconciliations, Cash in Transit clearing, statement booking, GL clearing, cash forecasting, Blackline reconciliations and SAP processing, controls, month-end close activities, query resolution and continuous improvement. The position requires an experienced SAP resource with hands-on knowledge of bank statement processing, clearing, reconciliations, journal posting and treasury/cash and banking transactions.
It also supplies to audit support, process documentation and operational excellence within the assigned regional portfolio through effective use of SAP, Microsoft office tool. Experience or awareness of AI-enabled productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot, will be beneficial for driving efficiency, documentation quality and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform Cash in Transit, bank GL, term deposit, overdraft, petty cash and related reconciliations, ensuring all unreconciled items are investigated, assigned to the responsible team and followed up until resolution.
- Prepare and support cash forecasting activities, including weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasting and cash pool reporting for in-scope entities and GL accounts.
- Perform bank statement booking, GL clearing, offsetting, journal processing and reconciliation activities in SAP and Blackline in a timely and accurate manner.
- Apply strong SAP knowledge to analyse and resolve posting issues, clearing exceptions, bank statement discrepancies and process defects across treasury operations activities.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Word effectively to prepare reconciliation workings, cash forecasting files, analysis, supporting schedules, process documentation and collaborator updates.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of process documentation, supporting schedules, adjustments and issue resolution.
- Partner with local Treasury, Cash & Banking, Finance, Business and regional teams to resolve operational queries, investigate root causes and drive timely closure of open items.
- Support bank account management and security officer activities within the assigned regional portfolio, ensuring adherence to policies, controls and governance requirements.
- Monitor defects, exceptions and issues within treasury and payment-related processes, advancing sophisticated matters to senior team members or relevant collaborators where required.
- Supply to operational improvements, system implementations, control activities, internal and external audits, Segregation of Duties monitoring, reporting and Delegation of Authority oversight.
- Maintain strong collaborator relationships by providing timely updates, clear resolution paths and collaborative support to internal and external collaborators.
- Support team performance through knowledge sharing, mentoring, process guidance and contribution to an inclusive and performance-oriented team culture.
Essential Education
- Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field

Essential Experience and Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Finance, Cash and Banking, Treasury, Financial Accounting or another transferable field.
- Strong knowledge of treasury operations, cash and banking processes, reconciliations, bank statement processing, GL clearing and month-end close activities.
- Strong hands-on SAP experience is required, with practical exposure to cash and banking processes, bank statement processing, GL clearing, reconciliations, journal posting and issue investigation; Blackline experience is preferred for reconciliation and journal processing activities.
- Good analytical, problem-solving and root-cause investigation skills with the ability to resolve sophisticated operational issues.
- Strong business English communication skills; additional language capability may be required depending on the supported region.
- Good interpersonal, influencing and decision-making skills to handle effective relationships with key collaborators.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle deadlines and deliver accurate outputs in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Stakeholder-oriented demeanour with a proven record of service delivery, issue resolution and continuous improvement.
- Ability to review and adapt working approaches in response to changing business, control or process requirements.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required, including proven understanding of formulas, data analysis, reconciliations, reporting, formatting, documentation and preparation of clear process notes or supporting schedules.
- Experience in coordinating activities, supporting team members, mentoring others or contributing to project delivery will be an advantage.

- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience supporting audits, controls, compliance requirements, system implementations or treasury transformation projects.
- Experience or awareness of AI-enabled productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to support automation, analysis, documentation and improvement in execution will be an added advantage.
