Supervises the field work normally performed by Company and contract crews in the construction, operation, and maintenance of transmission lines and associated equipment.

Job Description

Transmission Line Crew Supervisor:

What You'll Do:  

• Ensure that those performing construction and/or maintenance activities adhere to AEP policies, standards, and rules of the company and regulatory agencies.
• Develop construction and/or maintenance plans by establishing measurable goals and objectives based upon maintenance requirements.
• Provide training, guidance, and performance improvement projects/activities for employees in the organization.
• Promote professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to standards.
• Organize and conduct planning meetings covering scheduling, construction and/or maintenance of equipment with applicable company and contract personnel.
• Make effective recommendations for employment, promotion, discipline, and discharge of personnel assigned.
• Direct personnel as assigned in the performance of their duties as stated in their job description.
• Procure materials, tools and equipment as required.
• Responsible for the proper and safe use of tools and equipment, the safety, welfare and training of personnel assigned.
• Understand and apply the provisions of applicable labor agreements or employee handbook supplements where applicable.

What We're Looking For:

Education requirements are listed below:

• High school education or GED.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

• Minimum of five years' experience in Transmission operations, construction or maintenance.
• Possess thorough knowledge of line construction and maintenance activities that are gained through experiences such as Transmission Line Mechanic A, Transmission Construction Representative or Transmission Maintenance Coordinator. 

Other Requirements:

• Travel requirements are expected > 50 % of the timeConsiderable travel (over 50%) may be required.
• Major enabling competencies: flexibility, communication, creativity, and teamwork.

$140,000.00 - $140,000.00
