Sobre esta vaga de Translational Operations Specialist, China-APAC (Based in China) na Parabilis Medicines
About Parabilis Medicines
Parabilis Medicines is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to creating extraordinary medicines for patients with serious diseases by unlocking biologically important targets long considered undruggable. The company has pioneered a new class of alpha-helical peptides – Helicons™ – capable of modulating intracellular proteins that have historically been beyond the reach of conventional medicines. The company’s lead investigational medicine, zolucatetide, is the first and only direct inhibitor of the β-catenin:TCF interaction, a central node in the Wnt/β-catenin pathway that has eluded drug developers for decades. Zolucatetide is being evaluated in the clinic across multiple Wnt/β-catenin-driven diseases, including desmoid tumors, familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and a range of other solid tumor indications. Beyond zolucatetide, Parabilis is advancing additional Helicon-based programs focused on other challenging targets where we believe our medicines could have life-altering impact. What’s the opportunity?
Based in China, this role offers the opportunity to lead biospecimen operations for China-APAC-based clinical studies, overseeing biomarker, clinical pharmacology, and safety samples from collection through testing and data delivery. You will serve as the primary operational contact for central and specialty laboratories, maintain and reconcile sample inventories across laboratory and EDC systems, resolve discrepancies, and ensure consistent sample-handling and chain-of-custody practices. In close partnership with study sites, CROs, laboratories, and the U.S.-based Translational Operations team, you will support study documentation and training, coordinate sample transfers and regulatory filings such as HGRAC, monitor vendor performance and testing timelines, and provide clear reporting on sample status, discrepancies, and emerging operational risks.
This role requires the individual to be based in China; relocation to China will not be offered.
Biospecimen operations
- End-to-end clinical sample management: Track biomarker, clinical pharmacology (PK/PD), and clinical safety samples from collection through central lab receipt, storage, shipment to the specialty lab, and data delivery.
- Maintain the China sample inventory and oversight trackers against central lab and specialty lab records.
- Reconcile sample records across the central lab, specialty lab, and EDC; identify and resolve missing samples, duplicate or mis-labeled aliquots, quantity mismatches, and gaps in subject or visit sequences.
- Provide technical input on China lab manuals, requisition forms, and sample-related study documents
- Support sites and the central lab on sample queries, lab manual refresher training, and lab content for SIVs
- Provide technical and logistical support for regulatory filings such as HGRAC
Day-to-day vendor management
- Serve as the operational contact for the China central lab and the specialty testing lab
- Keep sample handling, accessioning conventions, requisition forms, and chain-of-custody documentation consistent across central labs as the network grows.
- Authorize and track sample transfers to the specialty lab per the approved testing plan; monitor turnaround time and follow up on delays.
- Compile sample volume and testing data for invoice review and monthly accruals.
- Attend China-based clinical study calls hosted by CRO and/or central lab as biomarker operations representative.
Reporting to the US team
- Report sample status regularly to the Senior Manager, Translational Operations : samples collected, received, shipped, and tested by study, site, and visit; open discrepancies; and shipment and turnaround time issues.
- Flag anomalies proactively — mismatched totals, ID sequence gaps, out-of-order collection dates, unexplained volume changes.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- BS in life sciences with 2+ years of clinical trial or laboratory operations experience, including at least 2 years supporting industry-sponsored trials at Chinese sites.
- Hands-on clinical or biomarker sample and data logistics experience supporting early to late stage clinical programs: sample tracking, shipment coordination, and reconciliation of biospecimen records against lab data.
- Day-to-day vendor management experience with a central lab, CRO, or specialty testing lab.
- Familiarity with HGR/HGRAC requirements for the use and export of Chinese biospecimens and associated data.
- Collaborative and proactive communicator who builds effective working relationships with labs, CRO partners, and remote US teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail and consistent follow-through on open items without prompting.
- Fluent Chinese and strong professional written and spoken English; able to communicate clearly to US-based manager and broader study team
- Preferred: experience in supporting studies in APAC countries beyond China.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize AI tools for day-to-day work; baseline proficiency is expected, and advanced or innovative use of AI is a strong plus
