Job Summary
Coordinate the functions of the transmission construction department by assisting the field TCR's with project updates, schedule updates, invoice processing, and project reporting. Assist the department manager with the department labor budget and associated reporting.Job Description
What you'll Do:
The Construction Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating the project activities that support the Transmission Construction Representatives (TCRs) and assisting the Construction Lead Prin. and Construction Manager with project tracking, reporting and completion of department goals.
Collaborate with other Transmission departments to collect and organize information needed to track active and future Construction Management projects
Assist Construction Lead Prin. with onboarding new TCRs
Prepare and track application access requests needed by TCRs and other Construction Management employees
Facilitate departmental meetings and TCR conferences.
Secure meeting location and handle logistics of meetings.
Oversee meeting agendas and presentations as required by the Construction Manager and Construction Lead Prin..
Assist with departmental training on computer applications used by the Construction Management group, including iPad training and other new technology and company programs.
Ensure TCRs issue in-service advisories on a timely basis and provide timely project updates in the Team Member application.
Create reports from various data applications as required by the Construction Manager or Construction Lead Prin. to support safety and departmental goals.
Help track and monitor AEP access to substations and facilities as required by the Construction Management department, including serving as an E-Key Captain.
Help ensure department is meeting its assigned goals with regards to safety, KEY Learning, culture initiatives and training.
Train and Mentor new Construction Coordinators.
Perform safety observations in the field; be familiar with one-lines and the types of construction contracts.
Assist with regional storm support by collecting contractor headcount and equipment information to be distributed to the Construction Manager and Construction Lead Prin.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Note: This position is posted at multiple grade levels and offers a range of opportunity for advancement. The minimal qualifications outlined below apply to the Transmission Construction Coordinator, with increased educational, skill, experience and certification requirements for higher level Transmission Construction Coordinator SRs.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in construction management or business Degree with 2 years' experience in project construction management
Associate's degree in construction management or business with 4 years' experience in project construction management
High School graduate with GED with 8 years in project construction management
Other Requirements:
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with field construction personnel.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Good analytical skills to analyze report data
Able to collaborate with numerous AEP departments and contract personnel in the field
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Apple products
What You'll Get:
Salary Range (Grade 6): $73,828 - $92,284 per year
Salary Range (Grade 7): $86,783 - $108,480 per year
