The Role

his is a new, exciting opportunity to join our growing global team. The successful candidate will join Javelin’s Trade Finance team, and will assist in carrying out all aspects of Javelin’s day-to-day trade finance activities.

This role will be based in our Bangalore office and represents Javelin’s first Trade Finance hire in the region, offering a unique opportunity to help establish and grow the function locally. While based in Bangalore, the successful candidate will work as part of a highly collaborative global team and will receive daily support and guidance from experienced Trade Finance colleagues in Singapore and London.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain strong relationships with financing banks and lenders
• Building strong relationships with all employees at Javelin
• Liaise with Commercial and Operations teams on transactions.
• Drafting and negotiating of import/export letters of credit and documents
• Negotiating LC documentation and reviewing associated shipping documents
• Liaising with Trading/Logistics team to resolve queries and discrepancies
• Negotiating LC rates and charges with banks and clients
• Monitoring and updating daily reporting via internal risk system

Requirements

 Skills and Experience Required:

• Self-motivated candidate with experience of a similar role within commodities operations
• Experience of document checking, with a strong attention to detail
• Organised, efficient and able to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to communicate globally at all levels
• A proactive work ethic with a desire to drive tasks to completion
• CDCS qualification is advantageous
• General understanding of UCP600/ISBP 745
• General understanding of shipping terms
• General understanding of the commercial terms pertaining to international trade flows
• Fluency in written and spoken English Language.
