Territory Manager, North Carolina & South Carolina

About This Role
As a Territory Manager, you grow profitable sales with new and existing Emery Jensen customers across North Carolina & South Carolina. You manage relationships with independent lumberyards, paint retailers, hardware stores, and ecommerce retailers and serve as their main link to Emery Jensen. Your focus is growing weekly warehouse orders, promotional and drop ship programs, and new accounts. This field-based role reports to the Director of Sales for Southeast region and works closely with Retail Sales Specialists, the Sales Support Team, and the Care Center. Your work expands the Emery Jensen customer base and helps independent businesses thrive in their communities.

What You'll Do

• Build and deliver a territory sales plan that meets annual sales and profit goals
• Visit core customers at least every 30 days and complete 8 to 10 store visits weekly
• Prospect new customers, with 1 to 2 prospect visits each week
• Plan weekly sales routes and customer calls
• Launch new programs and promotions at the store level
• Record leads, opportunities, and visits in Salesforce each week
• Partner with the Sales Support Team and Care Center to resolve customer issues quickly
• Share market insights, wins, and challenges with sales leadership
• Represent Emery Jensen at industry trade shows and events as needed
• Manage travel and entertainment expenses responsibly

Who You Are You are a self-motivated sales professional who builds lasting relationships and enjoys helping independent business owners grow. You are organized, independent, and energized by time on the road with customers.

Required Skills

• Strong listening and negotiation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build and carry out a sales growth plan
• Ability to manage multiple projects and customer priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel at least 3 days per week
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb a ladder
• This position requires driving a company vehicle and meeting company motor vehicle and insurance eligibility requirements. You must have a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least three (3) continuous years immediately preceding today’s date.

Preferred Skills

• 5 years of business sales experience
• Hardware or pro lumber sales experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Residence in or near Charlotte, Raleigh, Charleston, Columbia
