What you’ll do
⦿ Maintenance Support: Assist the maintenance department with general tasks including basic welding, grinding, and cutting using power tools to ensure smooth daily operations.
⦿ Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of premises and equipment to identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.
⦿ Facility Assistance: Support event setups and breakdowns by moving furniture and aiding in diagnosing and repairing facility and equipment issues.
⦿ Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements, demonstrating 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors.
⦿ Collaboration: Work closely with artisans and the maintenance team to assist with routine maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry areas.
⦿ Success Indicators: Success in this role means maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring safety standards are met, and supporting the team to minimize downtime.
⦿ Travel Requirements: This role is primarily onsite with no significant travel expected.
⦿ Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
⦿Matric, N3 or equivalent qualification
⦿ Semi-skilled welding ability with experience in basic welding, grinding, and cutting
⦿ Basic technical skills including use of hand and power tools, and understanding of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
⦿ Problem-solving and communication skills
Nice-to-haves:
⦿ Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and mobile elevated working platforms
⦿ Previous exposure to maintenance support in an industrial or mining environment
⦿ Familiarity with SHE policies and safety culture initiatives
⦿ Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to shift work
