Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Program and Customer Operations

•Own daily execution rhythm for Hitachi customer program, including program dashboard, issue list, action tracker, risk log and escalation follow-up.

•Lead regular customer / internal review cadence, prepare meeting minutes, action lists, status reports and escalation summaries.

•Support customer delivery, quality, engineering readiness, change implementation and operational priorities with clear ownership and closure timeline.

•Translate customer requests into internal cross-functional actions and ensure disciplined follow-through.

2. Japanese Customer Communication

•Serve as a key communication bridge with Hitachi Japan stakeholders and customer contacts.

•Lead or support customer meetings in Japanese, English and Chinese as required.

•Prepare customer-facing reports, technical summaries, issue updates and management-level presentations.

•Ensure customer concerns are communicated accurately and responded to with clear technical and operational actions.

3. Cross-functional Program Coordination

•Coordinate Program, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, IE and Equipment Engineering.

•Drive alignment on priorities, action owners, due dates, resource requirements and escalation needs.

•Facilitate problem solving across delivery, quality, material, process, fixture, equipment and production issues.

•Ensure decisions, risks and action closures are visible to stakeholders.

4. Manufacturing Engineering Technical Leadership

•Provide technical leadership and coordination across SMT, wave soldering, auto soldering, conformal coating, battery pack assembly, mechanical assembly and manufacturing process design topics.

•Work with engineering teams to review process readiness, DFM/DFA/TSA risks, process windows, fixture/tooling readiness and production control methods.

•Support engineering change implementation, process validation, customer technical responses, defect reduction and yield improvement activities.

•Challenge process risks and ensure robust corrective / preventive actions are defined and closed.

5. Issue Management, RCA and Continuous Improvement

•Lead structured closure of customer-impacting or production-impacting issues using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, DOE, SPC and CAPA discipline.

•Coordinate failure analysis, containment, root cause confirmation, corrective action and preventive action implementation.

•Drive yield improvement, process capability enhancement, defect reduction and continuous improvement actions.

•Escalate critical issues with clear impact, risk, owner, due date, recovery plan and decision required.

Qualifications

1.Education

•Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.

2.Required Experience

•Minimum 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Technical Program Management, NPI, Customer Program Operations, or cross-functional engineering leadership within an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment.

•Proven experience leading complex customer programs and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve quality, delivery, and operational objectives.

•Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering change management, issue resolution, and production readiness activities.

3.Preferred Experience

•Experience supporting Japanese customers in an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment.

•Exposure to one or more manufacturing disciplines, including PCBA/SMT, soldering processes, conformal coating, battery assembly, mechanical assembly, testing, or manufacturing process engineering.

•Experience driving engineering change implementation, manufacturing readiness reviews, quality issue resolution, and customer escalation management.

•Familiarity with NPI processes, process validation, yield improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.

4.Language

•Business-level Japanese communication skills required; JLPT N1 preferred.

•Strong business English communication skills.

•Fluent Mandarin Chinese communication skills for local factory coordination.

5.Tools & Methodologies

•Working knowledge of structured problem-solving and quality methodologies, including 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, DOE, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plan, and CAPA.

•Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles, process validation, manufacturing risk assessment, issue tracking, and customer reporting.

•Ability to interpret engineering data, assess manufacturing risks, and effectively communicate technical recommendations to both customers and internal stakeholders.
