This role sits in the Technology group, within the Checkout Organization, which owns the end‑to‑end checkout experience across Expedia Group’s consumer brands. The team is responsible for delivering a resilient, multi-tenant, high‑converting Modern Checkout platform, with goals that include driving conversion uplift and revenue growth, converging traffic from Classic platforms into one Modern Checkout platform and launching innovative AI experiences across our stack. As a Technical Program Manager III in Checkout, you will own end‑to‑end delivery of medium‑to‑complex, cross‑team programs, designing visibility mechanisms, managing dependencies and risk, and enabling predictable, high‑quality outcomes across multiple services and functional areas.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the planning and delivery of complex technical programs, coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve measurable business and engineering outcomes.
• Translate strategic objectives and product requirements into integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, and execution priorities.
• Drive program-level technical alignment across engineering, product, design, and partner teams, supporting decisions related to system design, APIs, data, and delivery approaches.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and trade-offs across multiple workstreams, using data and operational insights to improve predictability and execution quality.
• Establish governance, communication, reporting, and operating mechanisms that enable transparent decision-making and reliable delivery across technical domains.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve program, product, and engineering outcomes, applying foundational AI/ML concepts to real-world products and workflows.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical program management, software engineering, product development, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience owning complex programs or portfolios involving multiple teams, services, or technical domains from planning through delivery and operational support.
• Technical proficiency in software development lifecycles, system design concepts, APIs, data models, testing, deployment, and production operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional execution, resolve risks and dependencies, communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and make data-informed decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience delivering complex, multi-service technical programs at scale with a strong focus on operational excellence, reliability, security, and customer outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to influence architecture and technical decisions across multiple teams or domains without direct authority.
• Experience establishing metrics, dashboards, and feedback mechanisms to diagnose execution challenges and improve program predictability and delivery performance.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted program and engineering tools or applying AI/ML concepts to improve product capabilities, delivery workflows, risk management, or business outcomes.
• Experience safely integrating, monitoring, and operating AI/ML-enabled initiatives across technical programs, with appropriate attention to reliability, governance, and measurable impact.
