Job Summary

Cayenta is looking for a Technical Consultant to join our Managed Services & Technical Operations (TechOps) team. In this role you’ll help keep our customers’ business-critical ERP/CIS environments — running on Azure and on-premises — secure, reliable, and highly available. This is a hands-on role centred on operating, maintaining, and continuously improving live customer systems and the support experience around them.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•    Manage multiple ERP/CIS systems simultaneously as the primary or secondary consultant (on-prem and on Azure)
•    Co-lead or support complex ERP/CIS implementation and onboarding projects (Azure)
•    Support the operations, maintenance, and hardening of the infrastructure behind customer environments — Linux/Windows VMs, containers/AKS, database services, and network security — across Azure environments
•    Administer the core platform services customer systems depend on (identity/SSO, storage, secrets/key vault)
•    Ensure customer environments are administered with emphasis on availability, reliability, security, and scalability
•    Build automation and scripts for deployment, monitoring, patching, and routine maintenance to reduce manual toil
•    Apply AI-assisted tools in day-to-day operations, support, and automation — using them to accelerate troubleshooting, scripting, monitoring, and documentation while improving quality
•    Implement, configure, maintain, monitor and administer Windows Server/Desktop Operating Systems
•    Integrate third party solutions into the existing and new infrastructures (SSO, log management, vulnerability management, firewall, SendGrid)
•    Support the implementation and testing of DR systems for Azure customers
•    Installations, configuration, and maintenance of IT monitoring systems including Azure monitoring services
•    Experience with managing user permissions, SSO/password management, AD Group policy/MS Azure Policies (i.e., conditional access)
•    Ensure customer environment uptime is maintained through proactive management and maintenance of the customer environment
•    Troubleshooting/ad-hoc support (issue triage/resolution, tracking via ticketing system, etc.) and regular administration tasks (product releases, patching, updates, etc.).
•    Build productive, long-term relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction levels are maintained
•    System and Database Administration (SQL Server), some Oracle
•    Deliver monthly reports containing key and relevant details about the system, when required
•    Create, update, and improve internal documentation and guides
•    Attend daily team calls for delivery, deployment, and improvement of services
•    Prepare and participate in knowledge transfer and training sessions with other team members and staff.
•    Work with other members of the Managed Services team, Cayenta support, BI, and development groups to identify and resolve problems.
•    Contribute to internal projects as needed
•    Contribute to the team’s AI initiatives and roadmap — helping identify, pilot, and roll out AI-driven improvements across managed services and TechOps

•    Experience or solid knowledge of Azure
•    Experience of Apache Tomcat, Tomcat hardening, Nginx and SSL certificates.
•    Hands-on experience of Docker.
•    3+ years of technical support, business analysis, system administration, cloud infrastructure, and/or managed services experience or education.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Strong time-management skills to meet competing deadlines of multiple projects.
•    Experience using Jira, TeamSupport or equivalent.
•    Identity and access administration (SSO, directory/AD, group policy, conditional access)
•    Comfortable adopting AI-assisted tools, with the initiative to apply AI to engineering, operations, and support work as part of our roadmap
 

What makes you standout

•    Hands-on experience building or deploying AI-driven automation — e.g., LLM or agent-based workflows, prompt engineering, or AI tooling that measurably improved operations, support, or delivery
•    Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices — SLIs/SLOs, observability, incident response, and automation to reduce toil
•    Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
•    Oracle Administration

•    Previous working experience in the utility industry is desirable
•    Scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Shell, Azure CLI, etc.)
•    Experience of TCP/IP networking in general.
