Sobre esta vaga de Tax Resolution Assistant (United States or U.S. Territories) na Assist World
We are recruiting on behalf of a U.S.-based tax resolution firm looking for an entry-level Tax Resolution Assistant to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, inquisitive, comfortable working with data, and interested in developing a career in tax resolution. The role is primarily focused on data entry, document management, and maintaining accurate information throughout the tax resolution process rather than complex tax preparation.
The ideal candidate will be a quick learner who isn't afraid to ask questions, can adapt to changing situations, and is motivated to develop into a more autonomous tax resolution professional over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and organize client tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, and other supporting documentation
- Review incoming client information for completeness and accuracy
- Import client information into ProConnect tax software
- Double-check automated data entries and identify discrepancies or missing information
- Manually enter information where required
- Maintain accurate and organized client records
- Track the flow of documents and information throughout active tax resolution cases
- Follow up on missing documentation and outstanding information
- Support the tax resolution team with administrative and data-entry tasks
- Help ensure cases move efficiently through each stage of the process
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients when information or documentation is required
- Learn and apply new processes, systems, and tax-resolution procedures as your knowledge develops
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-year college degree in any field
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent data-entry and computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and software systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases or priorities
- Ability to learn new software and processes quickly
- Comfortable working independently in a relatively unstructured environment
- Must be based in the United States or a U.S. territory, such as Puerto Rico or Guam
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ProConnect or other tax software
- Previous experience in tax, accounting, financial services, or professional services
- Data-entry or document-processing experience
- Experience working with sensitive or confidential client information
- Customer service experience, particularly in situations where clients may be stressed or frustrated
What We're Looking For
This role is not simply a data-entry position. We're looking for someone who has the potential to grow with the business.
The right person will be:
- Inquisitive — you ask questions rather than making assumptions
- Flexible — you can adapt when the process isn't perfectly defined
- Resilient — you take feedback and criticism constructively
- Empathetic — you can remain calm and professional when dealing with clients under financial stress
- Curious — you genuinely want to understand how things work
- Self-motivated — you don't need constant supervision to keep moving
- Detail-oriented — you understand that small errors can have significant consequences
- A fast learner — you're comfortable learning new systems and developing specialist knowledge
Growth Opportunity
This position is intended to provide a long-term career path within tax resolution.
Initially, the role will focus heavily on data entry, document collection, case administration, and learning the firm's systems and processes. As your knowledge and confidence develop, there is an opportunity to take on greater responsibility and eventually become a self-sufficient tax resolution professional, including developing the skills required to assist with client cases and negotiate payment plans with the IRS.
