Role overview

The Technology, Media & Consumer Markets (TMC) Tax team works with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from fast-growing entrepreneurial businesses and private equity-backed companies to large international groups and listed businesses. We provide a combination of corporation tax compliance, tax reporting and advisory services that help our clients manage risk, meet their obligations and achieve their commercial objectives.

As a Tax Associate Director, you will lead client relationships and deliver a broad range of tax services to businesses across the TMC sector. Working closely with Partners and Directors, you will manage a portfolio of clients, provide commercially focused tax advice and lead the delivery of complex compliance and advisory engagements. You will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, oversee risk and quality standards, support the development of team members and contribute to business development initiatives. You will also play a key role in advising clients on strategic projects, including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and international expansion, working collaboratively with specialists across the wider firm..

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of clients within the Technology, Media & Consumer Markets sector, ensuring the delivery of high-quality corporation tax compliance, tax reporting and advisory services
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, providing practical and commercially focused tax advice across a broad range of corporate tax matters
• Lead the delivery of complex tax advisory projects, including reorganisations, acquisitions, disposals, international tax matters and other strategic business initiatives
• "Support the development of the TMC Tax team through recruitment, retention, succession planning and contribution to team strategy
• Review and oversee corporation tax computations, tax returns and tax accounting disclosures, ensuring technical excellence and effective risk management
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand existing engagements and develop new business
• Work closely with Partners and Directors to support business development activities, proposals, pitches and client growth initiatives
• Lead and develop Managers and junior team members through coaching, mentoring and performance management
• Manage engagement economics, resource planning and project delivery to ensure work is completed efficiently and within budget
• Collaborate with specialists across the wider tax practice to deliver integrated solutions to clients
• Contribute to the growth, development and culture of the TMC Tax team

Requirements

• Strong UK corporate tax technical knowledge with significant experience delivering both compliance and advisory services
• CTA and/or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
• Experience managing a corporate tax portfolio and leading the delivery of complex tax engagements
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including finance directors, tax directors and business owners
• Experience leading corporate tax advisory projects and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
• Strong commercial awareness and a track record of identifying opportunities to add value to clients and grow revenue
• Experience supporting business development activities, including proposals, pitches and client relationship development
• Demonstrable experience leading, coaching and developing managers and junior team members
• Strong project management, organisational and risk management skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to both tax and non-tax audiences
