We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support product lifecycle management, product and process improvements, and engineering change activities across our Medical Division portfolio. This position is located onsite in our Washington, North Carolina facility.

This role helps ensure our products continue to meet customer, quality, and business expectations throughout their lifecycle. The Sustaining Engineer will partner with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges, implement product and process improvements, and drive operational excellence.

You will:

• Support product lifecycle management initiatives.
• Execute product, process, and cost improvement projects.
• Manage engineering changes and technical documentation.
• Solve manufacturing, quality, and product performance issues.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver business results.

What You'll Do.

Product & Process Improvements

• Execute sustaining engineering projects, including product enhancements, cost reduction, and supplier-driven changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, and customer experience.
• Conduct engineering testing, analysis, and technical evaluations.

Technical Support & Problem Solving

• Investigate and resolve product, process, manufacturing, and quality issues.
• Provide engineering support for materials, specifications, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Apply root cause analysis, statistical methods, and structured problem-solving tools.

Change Control & Compliance

• Support engineering change control activities, including documentation, verification, validation, and implementation.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Supply Chain on CAPAs, investigations, and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and design records.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to implement practical engineering solutions.
• Support initiatives that improve quality, productivity, and cost performance.
• Capture and share technical knowledge through standards, documentation, and best practices.

What You'll Bring.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, or sustaining engineering.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience supporting product or process changes in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across functions.

Preferred

• Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of change control, CAPA, risk management, validation, or design controls.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with Minitab, DOE, FEA, CFD, or similar analysis tools.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA QSR, or related quality standards.

Compensation Information:

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, market level, other job-related factors, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.

Pay Range: $75,000-85,000 annualized salary.

Vacation - up to 120 hours within first year

Sick - up to 40 hours of time within first year

Floating Holiday - up to 8 hours of time within first year

Holiday - 10 paid holidays per year, these holidays are selected by the Division
