Sobre esta vaga de SuperBattery Site Director (m/f/x) na Skeleton Technologies

Skeleton's SuperBattery site in Varkaus, Finland is looking for an experienced, hands on industrial leader to guide our production site through its next phase of growth.
Varkaus started production a little over a year ago, and demand for what we build here has been exceptional. This role is not about maintaining a steady state factory. This role is about leading a young, high performing site through a genuine growth phase, with expansion already underway.
As Site Director, you will hold full operational and strategic responsibility for the site, its performance, its people, and its alignment with company wide goals. You will be the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and the person who drives excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across every part of site operations. You will report directly to our Site General Manager. A strong technical specialist on the team will report to you, freeing them to focus on their specialty while you own the leadership and operational direction of the site.
Your key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Team Development
- Lead the Varkaus team with a clear strategic vision, emphasizing accountability and collaboration.
- Champion our core values, get shit done, use good judgement, and push boundaries.
- Translate company wide objectives into actionable site level goals.
- Put performance metrics and KPIs in place to drive continuous improvement.
- Build an environment where people grow individually and work well together.
- Lead visibly and hands on, on the floor, not from an office.
Operational Oversight & Resource Management
- Make sure the site has the tools, equipment, and safety infrastructure needed.
- Act as the connective link between Varkaus and other Skeleton sites, including close, regular collaboration with our teams in Estonia and Germany.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and drive workflow improvements.
Financial Ownership & Budget Management
- Own the site's budgeting process, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Maintain financial transparency through cost control and invoice verification.
- Partner with function managers on budget approvals while overseeing day to day financial operations.
External Relations & Compliance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and promote safety practices across the site.
- Oversee facility maintenance to keep the plant fully operational and ready.
Production Strategy, Campaign Execution & Supply Chain Leadership
- Lead production planning and execution in line with strategic goals.
- Set production targets, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Manage material planning, procurement, inventory, and outbound logistics.
Requirements
- Five or more years in a senior factory, plant, or site leadership role, with real accountability for operational performance rather than project management alone.
- Strong industrial manufacturing and production experience in complex, technically demanding environments, ideally including piece production.
- Genuine hands on technical depth in electrical engineering, plus a chemical engineering background as an advantage though not required.
- Experience working internationally, collaborating closely with teams in Estonia and Germany.
- Battery, cell manufacturing, or energy storage experience as a strong plus, though strong plant leaders from adjacent manufacturing backgrounds are equally welcome.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles as an advantage.
- A leadership style that is genuinely hands on and visible on the floor, not managing from a distance.
- Finnish and English proficiency.
- Willingness to relocate to and be based mainly on site in Varkaus.
Benefits
- A supportive, close knit work community in Varkaus that values good judgement over bureaucracy.
- A genuine growth phase company, with a clear and credible path toward broader site leadership over time.
- Real responsibility and real influence in a growing, technically demanding manufacturing environment.
- Strong employee benefits.
We're not just about energy storage. We're about redefining energy for a net-zero future, and we'd love for you to be a part of our journey.

About Skeleton
Skeleton Technologies is a global leader in critical power infrastructure for AI data centers and electrical grid stability, founded in 2009. Power today is more than electricity.
It is national security, digital continuity, and economic resilience. Skeleton is the Backbone of Power: equipping AI data centers, electrical grids, defense systems, and critical infrastructure with the resilience to withstand surges, instability, and failure. Our power systems protect GPU clusters from millisecond-level spikes, enable hyperscalers to run at higher rack densities without grid compromise, and make AI data centers up to more 40% energy efficient. We keep the lights on when grids fluctuate, stabilising electrical infrastructure under the combined pressure of accelerating renewable energy deployment and surging AI demand.
When power fails, critical operations stop. We exist to prevent that in microseconds. Powering the infrastructure that powers everything else.
