About the Role

ClickUp is hiring a Strategic Solutions Engineer to partner with our Sales team across APAC, helping prospective and existing customers turn business challenges into practical solutions. You will lead technical discovery, deliver tailored demonstrations, design solutions, and guide technical evaluations that help customers adopt ClickUp, expand their use of the platform, and realise measurable business value.

This is primarily a customer-facing pre-sales role, with approximately 80% focused on direct sales opportunities and 20% supporting our partner ecosystem. You will combine business process mapping, compelling storytelling, and hands-on work with AI, automation, and integrations to show customers better ways of working. You will also help partners build their technical confidence through targeted enablement and support on shared opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Discovery & Solution Design: Partner with Account Executives to understand customer goals, map current business processes, and design solutions that connect ClickUp capabilities to measurable outcomes.

• Tailored Demonstrations & Storytelling: Deliver customer-specific demonstrations, workshops, and executive presentations that show the value of ClickUp for prospective and existing customers.

• Technical Evaluations & Proof of Value: Own the technical evaluation from discovery through working sessions, technical Q&A, proof-of-value projects, integration scoping, and final value presentation.

• AI, Automation & Integrations: Build and demonstrate practical AI-driven workflows, agent-based solutions, and lightweight integrations that help customers improve productivity and operational efficiency.

• Technical Deal Support: Address technical objections, contribute to functional and technical RFP responses, and help customers evaluate solution fit, feasibility, and business impact.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Professional Services, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and global Solutions Engineering teams to resolve technical questions, share customer feedback, and support a clear handoff from evaluation to implementation.

• Reusable Assets & Best Practices: Develop demo environments, solution patterns, and technical content that improve the quality and efficiency of customer engagements. Manage multiple opportunities with sound prioritisation and commercial judgment.

• Partner Enablement: Help partners strengthen discovery, demos, and solution design through targeted training and reusable assets covering ClickUp, AI, integrations, and workflow automation.

• Partner Co-Selling: Support selected partner-led and shared opportunities with technical discovery, demonstrations, and solution guidance, working alongside Partner Managers and Account Executives.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of solutions engineering experience.

• Strong presentation, storytelling, and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to connect product capabilities and technical details to business outcomes for different audiences.

• Strong customer-facing skills, including the ability to build credibility, influence technical and executive audiences, and handle objections thoughtfully.

• Ability to map business processes, facilitate whiteboarding sessions, and translate customer requirements into clear solution designs.

• Creative problem-solving skills, an eagerness to learn new technologies, and sufficient technical depth to build lightweight custom solutions using APIs, web services, integrations, or automation.

• Hands-on experience applying AI and LLMs to practical workflows, with the ability to explain their value and limitations to customers.

• Strong commercial judgment, structured problem-solving, and comfort managing multiple concurrent priorities with urgency and limited supervision.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% for this role.

Preferred

• Experience supporting enterprise customers or complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes.

• Experience with project management, portfolio management, collaborative work management, or other horizontal SaaS platforms.

• Familiarity with integration platforms such as Workato, Zapier, Unito, or Make.

• Experience enabling colleagues, customers, or partners through training, workshops, or reusable technical content.

Location

• This role is open to candidates across Australia, with Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane preferred.
