POSITION: Stock Handler

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

LOCATION: NYSEG - NY - Geneva                                                                   

HOURLY RATE: $43.55 - $44.55

Responsibilities

Under directive supervision:

• Receives, documents, handles and stores incoming shipments of materials and supplies, including quality control and other receipt inspections.
• Assembles material for jobs or for transfer to other Storerooms.
• Prepares out going materials and arranges for shipments.
• Accepts material returns and sorts for stock or salvage.
• Performs inventories, as required, including review of stock levels and obsolescence. Drives and operates all Stores equipment, such as forklifts and Stores trucks.
• Performs Stores clerical duties as required.
• Performs related or less skilled work as required.

Skills and Requirements

• Should have had at least one year of experience in related utility operations or the equivalent, prior experience in the Stores Department is desirable. Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methods of procedure are available. Equivalent to four years of high school.
• Must acquire a working knowledge of related stock symbol system, company accounting and purchasing procedures, and computer terminal operations.
• Prefer someone already having such knowledge.
• Must be familiar with the Company's Safety Rules, approved methods of resuscitation and be able to render practical First Aid.
• Must be able to qualify for required licenses.

• Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
