Service Account Manager – Southern Territory
The Service Account Manager (SAM) for the Southern Territory will reside within Agilent's Services & Support Division (SSD) and be responsible for driving aftermarket service sales, customer retention, and account growth across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee. This role supports both new and existing customers by delivering the full CrossLab Asset Performance Management portfolio, including standard service agreements, laboratory-wide service solutions, compliance and operational support programs, and CrossLab digital technologies.
In this strategic, customer-facing role, you will leverage your sales, business development, and account management expertise to expand customer partnerships and drive profitable growth across Pharmaceutical, Chemical Analysis, Life Sciences, Academic, Government, and Industrial markets. You will work closely with customers to understand their operational, financial, and compliance objectives while positioning Agilent's service solutions to improve productivity, optimize asset utilization, and enhance laboratory performance.
As a key member of the territory team, you will partner with inside sales representatives, field sales teams, service delivery personnel, Customer Operations Center (CoPC), Credit & Collections, and other business partners to develop and execute territory strategies, maximize customer satisfaction, and ensure a world-class customer experience throughout the customer lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate service sales growth within assigned named accounts and geographic territories throughout the Southern Region Territory
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to retain existing business while identifying and capturing new growth opportunities.
- Promote and sell Agilent's CrossLab Asset Performance Management portfolio, including service agreements, digital solutions, and customized service offerings.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders, including executive, operational, technical, and procurement contacts.
- Proactively assess customer needs and position solutions that deliver measurable operational, financial, and compliance benefits.
- Lead strategic selling activities, including opportunity qualification, deal planning, competitive positioning, account penetration, and contract negotiations.
- Develop, manage, and continuously refine lead generation and territory growth plans while maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation, delivery, and ongoing support of customer solutions.
- Serve as a leadership contributor within the territory team by driving strategy, sharing best practices, and facilitating alignment across stakeholders.
- Lead projects and initiatives requiring coordination across multiple functions, organizations, and business groups.
- Resolve a broad range of customer and business challenges through sound judgment, creativity, and independent decision-making.
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas, growth objectives, and key performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree required; science, engineering, or business-related disciplines preferred.
- 4+ years of successful sales, account management, or business development experience, preferably within Life Sciences, analytical instrumentation, laboratory services, or solution-based selling environments.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and driving growth within strategic or major accounts.
- Demonstrated success selling consultative, value-based solutions and developing long-term customer partnerships.
- Strong ability to communicate the operational, financial, and compliance value of service and support solutions.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and working effectively within a matrixed organization.
- Ability to work independently while driving strategic initiatives across a geographically dispersed territory.
- Strong organizational, planning, and pipeline management skills.
- Knowledge of analytical instrumentation, laboratory operations, and service business models is preferred.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of account management and sales processes, along with the ability to solve complex business challenges with limited supervision.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least October 15, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. It is sales incentive eligible. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $147,675.00 - $246,125.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
