Lead and develop the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team to ensure effective lifecycle management from New Product Introduction (NPI) through High Volume Manufacturing (HVM), sustaining, and End-of-Life (EOL). Drive cross-functional alignment, material availability, engineering change execution, and operational excellence while supporting business objectives, customer commitments, and supply chain performance.
The PLM Team Lead is accountable for building a high-performing team, managing operational priorities, resolving escalations, and driving continuous improvement across the product lifecycle. The role requires strong stakeholder management, business acumen, and leadership capabilities to ensure successful execution in a complex matrix organization.
Requirements
Business & Operational Leadership
- Strong understanding of PLM deliverables and decision-making processes across Quality, Logistics, Technology, Cost, and Sustainability (QLTCS) dimensions.
- Ability to assess business impact, prioritize actions, and drive execution to meet customer and organizational objectives.
- Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex operational escalations.
Stakeholder Management
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Builds effective partnerships and alignment with stakeholders across Development & Engineering (D&E), Supply Chain Management, Logistics Functions (LF), SS&P, suppliers, and global PLM organizations.
- Effectively manages conflicting priorities and drives timely decision-making.
Continuous Improvement Mindset
- Demonstrated ability to simplify processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve operational performance.
- Drives standardization, knowledge sharing, and best-practice deployment across the PLM community.

Role and responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Lifecycle Managers (PLMs) and Project Coordinators.
- Set clear objectives and expectations aligned with business priorities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and development discussions.
- Drive capability building through mentoring, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure effective resource planning, workload balancing, and talent development across the team.
- Build team engagement and promote an inclusive, high-performance work environment.
2. Product Lifecycle Management
- Oversee lifecycle management activities across NPI, industrialization, HVM, sustaining, and EOL phases.
- Ensure successful product introductions, product transfers, and lifecycle transitions.
- Monitor product health, supply chain readiness, and material availability.
- Lead escalation management and drive resolution of lifecycle-related business risks.
- Ensure timely and effective execution of Engineering Changes (ECs) and product updates.
- Drive alignment between product requirements, operational readiness, and customer commitments.
3. Project & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary interface between PLM, D&E, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, and Sales Operations.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on priorities, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Facilitate decision-making and issue resolution across multiple organizations and management levels.
- Represent the PLM function during business reviews, project governance meetings, and management escalations.
- Build strong partnerships with local and global stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
4. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Establish, monitor, and improve operational performance through relevant KPIs and business metrics.
- Drive process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, predictability, and scalability.
- Identify and mitigate risks impacting product availability, customer deliveries, and operational performance.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Standardize ways of working and deploy best practices across the PLM organization.
- Promote digitalization, automation, and data-driven improvements where applicable.
5. Business & Strategic Contributions
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that support business growth, operational readiness, and organizational development.
- Support long-term planning of resources, competencies, and capability development.
- Collaborate with global PLM counterparts to ensure alignment and leverage global best practices.
- Translate business strategy into actionable plans and team objectives.
- Support organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
Education
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management, Supply Chain, Program Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a matrix organization.
- Experience managing complex product lifecycles and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong experience in stakeholder management, escalation management, and operational improvement.
