Sr. Technical Writer (New Kensington, PA)

As the Sr. Technical Writer within the Sleep & Respiratory Care portfolio, you will create/update US and global instructions for use and labeling for regulated medical device products. This position operates as a senior-level individual contributor by managing labeling projects, supporting audits and regulatory submissions, and ensuring labeling is compliant and effective. 

Your role:

• Develop, update, and maintain labeling including instructions for use, online help files, device labeling, and packaging for medical devices.
• Provide labeling support for assigned projects and interface with business groups as needed to resolve labeling concerns. 
• Translate complex engineering, clinical, and regulatory inputs into clear, concise, user-focused content.
• Lead labeling strategy for new product development and post-market changes.

You're the right fit if:

• You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in areas such as Technical Writing or similar, OR no prior experience required with a Master’s degree.
• Your skills include attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem solving and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with using AI and/or developing or managing AI agents for technical writing related tasks, preferred.
• You have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English, Writing, Engineering or equivalent.
• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
• You can cultivate effective relationships with internal/external partners and provide influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating full understanding of engineering specialization within the medical devices sector.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in New Kensington, PA is $90,000 to $143,000.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
