Position Summary

Assurant is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex, cross-functional business and technology initiatives that support strategic business objectives and enterprise transformation efforts.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and delivering enterprise projects within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk parameters. This role partners closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of strategic outcomes while applying strong leadership, governance, and project management discipline.

What You’ll Do

Lead Complex Enterprise Initiatives

• Manage large-scale, cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation and operational transition.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, success measures, and implementation strategies.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, resource plans, budgets, and governance artifacts.
• Coordinate business, technology, operations, vendor, and third-party resources to achieve project objectives.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Drive Governance, Risk, and Delivery Excellence

• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and change requests.
• Monitor project health, resource capacity, budget performance, and key delivery metrics.
• Lead issue resolution activities and escalate critical concerns as appropriate.
• Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards, compliance requirements, audit controls, security policies, and project management methodologies.

Executive Communication and Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Facilitate project governance reviews, steering committees, status meetings, workshops, and executive briefings.
• Provide clear, concise communication of project status, risks, accomplishments, decisions, and recommendations.
• Influence decision-making and drive stakeholder alignment to support business objectives.

Team Leadership

• Lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor project managers, project coordinators, and team members.
• Resolve conflicts and remove barriers that may impact delivery success.

Continuous Improvement

• Champion project management best practices, standards, processes, and tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, governance effectiveness, and organizational maturity.
• Contribute to operational excellence initiatives across the PMO and broader organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of project management experience leading large, complex, enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Demonstrated success delivering cross-functional programs involving multiple business and technology teams.
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and change controls.
• Strong leadership, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions without direct authority.
• Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience leading business transformation, finance transformation, systems implementation, integration, or modernization initiatives.
• Experience using Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or Project Portfolio Management (PPM) platforms.
• Experience with Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership and steering committees.
• Financial services, insurance, fintech, or shared services experience preferred.
