The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Sr. Procurement Agent for APAC Indirect, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Serve as the key Indirect procurement partner for Solventum Japan, managing relationships with local stakeholders and suppliers, supporting business projects and sourcing initiatives, and ensuring alignment with regional and global procurement strategies.
• Developing and implementing global and regional Procurement strategies for assigned categories (MRO and Site Service) to ensure business continuity and value creation. 
• Establishing and managing supplier relationships that ensure cost and service benefits to the corporation.
• Negotiating and establishing effective supplier contract agreements, holding suppliers accountable to competitive prices, high quality and best-in-class service
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize activities for the successful integration of the Procurement strategies for the assigned categories (MRO and Site Service) as well as overall sourcing guidelines and processes.
• Leading complex projects as well as initiatives that have a high value and broad implication to the corporation.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university .

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Ten (10) years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, or Legal in a private, public and government.
• Fluent in Spoken and written English and Japanese, JLPT N1 Level (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test). Proven record of Leading commercial negotiations, drafting and reviewing agreement terms in Japanese with business etiquette (Keigo)
• Deep understanding of Japanese company culture, decision-making process, and business communication customs.
• Understanding of supply chain dynamics for MRO/Site service. Proven ability to setup, monitor and enforce SLA and KPI to drive supplier performance.
•  Proficient in Procurement system(SAP/Ariba) with strong cross-functional communication skills to bridge local team needs and global strategy.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Logistics and Supply Chain from an accredited institution
• Familiar indirect agreement and key risk areas - Liability limits, indemnification, data security and privacy, local regulatory compliance....
• Strong negotiation skills with attention to detail
• Skilled written and oral communications
• Strong stakeholder management/influencing skills at a senior level.
• Strong business, contract language and financial acumen.
