Position Summary 
As part of the Cepheid HR team, the Senior HR Generalist Southern Europe serves as an experienced HR professional across the region within Cepheid, independently resolving sensitive, escalated, and non-standard HR matters across the employee lifecycle. This role applies strong policy, process, and employee relations judgment to support associates and people leaders, while partnering across HR Service Delivery, People Partners, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Centers of Excellence, and Legal or Employee Relations resources as appropriate. The Senior HR Generalist contributes to consistent case outcomes, improved service quality, and practical solutions that strengthen the associate and leader experience. 
In addition, the HR Generalist contributes to continuously improving how we work by strengthening processes, supporting policy harmonization, and sharing expertise across the HR operating model.  
This position reports to the VP HR Commercial and is part of the EMEA HR team located in Amsterdam and will be an on-site role.   

 What You'll Do 
1.    Resolve sensitive, escalated, and non-standard HR cases, including employee lifecycle, policy interpretation, performance administration, time and attendance, benefits, and employee relations-related matters. 
2.    Advise people leaders on documentation, process requirements, risk considerations, and appropriate next steps within established policies, playbooks, and governance standards. 
3.    Partner with HR Service Delivery, People Partners, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Centers of Excellence, and Legal or Employee Relations resources to ensure effective escalation, handoffs, and end-to-end resolution. Identify recurring case themes, demand drivers, and escalation patterns; contribute to root-cause problem solving, standard work, knowledge articles, and process improvements and coach HR colleagues and service delivery partners on complex scenarios, documentation quality, policy application, and consistent decision-making. 
4.    Support France and Spain employee representative and consultation processes, including preparation, timeline coordination, meeting support and action tracking, with escalation of complex matters to the HRBP or LER. 
5.    Coordinate Global Commercial processes and HR projects, including performance and development analytics and follow-up, headcount and requisition tracking, data quality, project management of timelines and actions. 

 The Essential Requirements of the Job Include 
1.    Bachelor's degree or Master Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
2.    5+ years of experience in HR operations, shared services, employee relations support, or a Human Resources generalist or specialty discipline. 
3.    Demonstrated ability to independently resolve sensitive, ambiguous, or escalated HR matters using sound judgment and documented policy guidance. 
4.    Strong proficiency with HRIS, case management systems, reporting tools, and related business applications. Experience identifying trends, improving processes, and influencing outcomes without direct authority. 
5.    Fluent French and English are required; Spanish and experience supporting multiple countries or employee representative matters are preferred. 
 
It Would Be a Plus If You Also Possess 
•    Experience supporting multiple sites, countries, business units, or operating companies in a matrixed environment. 
•    Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, performance improvement, or coordinated exits. 
•    Experience with project management across multiple countries.
