Position Overview
LINC is seeking a Floor Supervisor to support our operation at GM Lake Orion Assembly in Lake Orion, Michigan. This role is responsible for overseeing daily cross dock operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of inbound and outbound freight in support of General Motors production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily cross dock operations supporting GM Lake Orion Assembly.
Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees while promoting accountability and performance.
Ensure the timely loading, unloading, staging, and movement of materials to support production requirements.
Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and productivity to ensure operational goals are met.
Maintain compliance with all safety policies, customer requirements, and company procedures.
Investigate and resolve operational issues, shipment discrepancies, and service interruptions.
Coordinate with transportation providers, customers, and internal teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
Track and report key performance indicators related to safety, quality, productivity, and delivery performance.
Support employee training, onboarding, and performance management activities.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and service improvements.
Maintain accurate documentation, inventory records, and operational reporting.
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of supervisory, team lead, or leadership experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
Experience managing hourly employees and coordinating daily operations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
Preferred
Experience supporting automotive, OEM, or Tier 1 operations.
Knowledge of cross dock operations, freight management, material flow, and inventory control.
Experience with WMS, TMS, or other transportation and warehouse management systems.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
