Position Summary
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. You will collaborate with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, individualized care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations within 24 hours (or 1 business day) of referral
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy for communication, cognition, and dysphagia
- Supervise SLP Assistants (if applicable) in accordance with state practice guidelines
- Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment as needed
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
- Participate in care plans, rehab meetings, and discharge planning
- Provide staff education and in-service training
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor (including CFY support if applicable)
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active, unencumbered SLP license in South Carolina (required)
- Must meet all state and federal requirements for clinical practice
- Maintain continuing education and good standing with the State Board
- Experience in a skilled nursing or rehab setting preferred
- Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred
- Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills
