Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, the College Outreach and Onboarding Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, facilitating, tracking, and reporting Career and Technical Education (CTE) student recruitment programs/events and workshops. This position will support prospective and incoming students, particularly those entering CTE programs. The specialist will assist students through the application process, provide individual caseload management to support students from the point of application through enrollment and payment. This position is Perkins funded.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Minimum Experience:

  • Six years of related experience.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating events, workshops, or outreach efforts.

Essential Functions:

35% – Outreach & Recruitment

Plan  , conduct, and track recruitment visits to high schools, community agencies, and workforce partners. Build relationships with K–12 staff, community partners, employers, and internal stakeholder. Represent the college and CTE programs at educational and community events. Collaborate with campus and pathway teams on open houses, career fairs, and enrollment eventsto assist students with the application process.

30% – Onboarding

Manage caseload, track and monitors students onboarding progress from the point of admission through the first-term paid enrollment. Provide academic, career, and transitional advising to prospective and enrolled first-time-in-college (FTIC), including CTE Technical Certificate. Support students through the articulation process to ensure a smooth transition into Broward College CTE programs. Work closely with other departments to ensure all required documents for compliance and eligibility for admissions are completed.  Assist students with navigating college systems, including enrollment, financial aid, and registration during onboarding process.

25% – Workshop & Event Facilitation

Organize and present workshops on topics such as career pathways. Partner with institutional departments to develop and deliver seminars focused on CTE pathways information and application sessions.

5% – Marketing, Communication & Reporting

Coordinate with the Marketing Department to design and distribute recruitment materials. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CTE programs and workforce trends to promote relevant opportunities. Support reporting CTE initiatives through data collection and narrative contributions

5% – Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in advising and mentoring students toward academic and career goals.
  • Knowledge of CTE programs, career pathways, and community partnerships.
  • In-depth functional knowledge and expertise in area of specialization and general knowledge of related areas in the College
  • Ability to perform complex administrative analysis with only general supervision
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills used appropriately influence the decision-making of individuals and groups at all levels in the College
  • Ability to plan and manage own work flow, priorities and results accomplishment
  • Requires the ability to present and disseminate data to various levels
