At Xtremax, we're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to lead the modernization of enterprise .NET applications into scalable, cloud-native solutions. This role combines architecture leadership with hands-on software engineering, giving you the opportunity to shape the technical direction of large-scale applications while building production-ready systems.
You'll define modern microservices architecture, establish engineering standards, and lead the development of a flagship pilot application that will become the reference implementation for future enterprise systems. Working closely with development teams and stakeholders, you'll influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and drive the adoption of modern software engineering practices across multiple applications.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing high-quality code, and designing secure, scalable systems using .NET, Azure, microservices, DevOps, and cloud-native technologies.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the architecture for modern .NET applications using microservices and cloud-native design principles.
- Design scalable service boundaries, domain models, API communication patterns, and integration strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and deployment approaches for enterprise applications.
- Lead the architecture and hands-on development of a pilot application, establishing reusable engineering patterns and reference implementations.
- Develop complex application components while promoting clean architecture, maintainable code, and software engineering best practices.
- Establish secure coding standards, testing strategies, and CI/CD practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, technical walkthroughs, and troubleshooting sessions to ensure solution quality.
- Guide development teams in modernizing existing .NET applications and adopting the target architecture.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that balance business needs with technical excellence.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple software development initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in software architecture or solution architecture.
- At least 4 years leading architecture design for modern enterprise applications.
- Proven experience delivering production-grade microservices or modernized enterprise applications.
- Strong expertise in .NET 8/10, C#, and modern software architecture.
- Experience designing and building cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and scalable application design.
- Experience designing secure applications, including authentication, authorization, and secure software development practices.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery.
- Hands-on experience developing production-quality software and implementing complex application components.
- Strong code review, refactoring, and software quality practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical direction.
Preferred
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect or other cloud certifications.
- Experience with Node.js or modern frontend technologies.
- Experience working with SQL and relational database design.
- Familiarity with Singapore Government cloud platforms or enterprise application environments.
- Knowledge of IM8 security requirements and secure enterprise architecture.
