Job Description

The Audio Technology Licensing organization develops scalable, portable, and high-performance audio technologies that can be integrated into a broad range of partner products and platforms. Our mission is to help customers successfully adopt and commercialize Bose audio innovations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Integration) to join the Audio Technology Licensing Engineering team in China.

This role focuses on the development, integration, validation, and deployment of Bose audio technologies into customer products and platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, DSP engineers, acoustic engineers, product teams, and global engineering organizations to ensure Bose technologies are successfully integrated and optimized across diverse hardware and software environments.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with excellent problem-solving and customer engagement skills. This individual will play a key role in bridging technology development and customer deployment, ensuring successful commercialization of Bose licensed technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Integration & Deployment

• Integrate Bose audio technologies, algorithms, and tuning configurations into customer hardware and software platforms.
• Develop, customize, and maintain software components required for successful deployment of Bose technologies.
• Support technology bring-up, platform enablement, system integration, and production readiness activities.
• Validate software functionality, audio performance, system stability, and production quality across target platforms.
• Collaborate with DSP, acoustic, and system engineering teams to optimize system performance and user experience.

Customer Technical Support

• Engage directly with customers throughout evaluation, development, integration, and product launch phases.
• Provide technical guidance on system architecture, software integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Support customer prototyping, tuning, validation, and issue resolution activities.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for software and system-level technical issues.
• Represent the engineering team in customer-facing technical discussions and reviews.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with global engineering teams to align technical solutions with customer requirements and business objectives.
• Evaluate third-party hardware, software, and platform technologies to assess compatibility with Bose solutions.
• Contribute to integration best practices, development processes, and technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance deployment efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in embedded software or firmware development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for software development, testing, automation, and debugging.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Linux audio frameworks such as ALSA and ASoC.
• Experience developing software on embedded platforms, including ARM-based processors, RISC-V architectures, Bluetooth SoCs, or similar systems.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform systematic root-cause analysis.
• Experience integrating software across complex hardware and software systems.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, version control, build systems, and release management processes.

Audio Technology Experience

• Experience with audio systems, audio signal processing, or consumer electronics products.
• Familiarity with Bluetooth audio technologies and associated system constraints.
• Understanding of acoustics and electroacoustics, including microphones, loudspeakers, and audio measurement methods.
• Experience evaluating, integrating, and benchmarking third-party software and hardware solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Android, Windows Audio, or other multimedia software platforms.
• Experience with machine learning or AI-based audio technologies.
• Familiarity with DSP algorithms and audio signal processing workflows.
• Knowledge of Java, C#, MATLAB, or related engineering tools.
• Experience supporting technology deployment across multiple product platforms and customers.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both technical and customer-facing environments.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineering teams and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, audio technologies, or related engineering disciplines.
• Experience supporting customer-facing integration, deployment, or product commercialization activities is highly desirable.
