Job Summary
Seasoned experienced professional with a strong understanding of DevSecOps, Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering. Works independently on a variety of technical challenges related to automation, deployment, cloud platforms and infrastructure.
Responsible for building and maintaining reliable and secure engineering environments, improving deployment processes and resolving complex production issues. This is a journey-level individual contributor role that does not lead teams.
Responsibilities
- Independently handles a wide range of DevSecOps, cloud and infrastructure engineering issues with limited day-to-day instruction.
- Builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines and automation to support software development and deployment.
- Works with cloud platforms, containers and Kubernetes to deploy and manage applications and services.
- Uses Infrastructure as Code to automate and manage cloud and infrastructure environments.
- Applies security practices across development, deployment and infrastructure processes.
- Troubleshoots production issues across applications, cloud, infrastructure and deployment environments and drives root-cause resolution.
- Identifies opportunities to automate manual processes, improve reliability and reduce operational effort.
- Works with engineering teams to improve deployment, infrastructure and operational practices.
Technical
- Independently develops and maintains reliable automation, deployment and infrastructure solutions.
- Designs and improves CI/CD processes and deployment environments.
- Works hands-on with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code and automation tools.
- Debugs production issues involving multiple systems and identifies permanent solutions.
- Maintains good engineering, security and operational practices through code reviews and technical standards.
Dealing with Ambiguity
- Understands technical requirements and independently determines appropriate DevSecOps and infrastructure solutions.
- Works through unclear or changing requirements and identifies practical solutions.
Process
- Improves team efficiency through automation and better deployment and infrastructure practices.
- Identifies opportunities to improve reliability, security and operational efficiency.
Scope
- Owns medium to large DevSecOps, cloud or infrastructure components with multiple moving parts.
- Works across engineering and technology teams to deliver reliable and secure platforms and services.
Leadership
- Takes ownership of production issues and drives root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
- Leads by technical example and promotes good DevSecOps and engineering practices.
- Collaborates with engineering, security and infrastructure teams.
- Mentors other engineers and shares technical knowledge.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in DevSecOps, Cloud, Infrastructure or related areas.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code and automation.
- Experience with Linux, containers and scripting/programming.
- Good understanding of security practices within software development and deployment.
