This role will oversee the availability, accuracy, and timely replenishment of materials and components required on the production floor.

The Floor Stock Manager will partner closely with Production, Materials Planning, Warehouse, Procurement, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and minimizing shortages, excess inventory, and material disruptions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on supply chain leader with strong manufacturing experience, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day floor stock and point-of-use material operations supporting manufacturing.
  • Manage and develop the floor-stock/material replenishment team, including workload planning, priorities, performance, and training.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of materials to production lines based on production schedules and consumption requirements.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate min/max, Kanban, safety stock, and replenishment parameters.
  • Monitor material availability and proactively identify potential shortages that could impact production.
  • Partner with Production and Manufacturing teams to understand material requirements and resolve issues affecting production schedules.
  • Coordinate with Materials Planning, Procurement, Buyers, and Warehouse teams to expedite critical materials and resolve supply constraints.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, system transactions, and physical inventory controls.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and aging floor stock and develop plans to reduce inventory exposure.
  • Analyze material consumption, inventory levels, shortages, and replenishment trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely transactions in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Develop and maintain operational reports and KPIs related to material availability, inventory accuracy, shortages, replenishment, and team performance.
  • Establish and maintain standardized processes for material staging, replenishment, storage, and point-of-use inventory.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, production ramps, and other manufacturing transitions from a material-readiness perspective.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and process issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, inventory management, labor efficiency, and production support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, inventory-control procedures, and material-handling standards.
  • Communicate material risks, production constraints, and operational issues to Supply Chain and Operations leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in materials management, inventory control, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related function.
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing teams in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably electronics, PCBA, server, storage, networking, or data center hardware.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, material replenishment, MRP/ERP systems, and production-support processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Advanced Excel/data-analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting server, storage, networking, data center, or electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of BOMs, MRP, production schedules, material shortages, ECOs, and engineering changes.
  • Experience implementing or managing Kanban, two-bin, supermarket, or point-of-use inventory systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing inventory KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Strong understanding of material flow from receiving/warehouse through production.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp activities.
