You will be working as SME-Fixed Assets Accounting & Reporting and will be reporting to Accounting & Reporting Manager – GA and will be a part of Bangalore, India. In this role you will be primarily responsible for End-to-End Fixed Assets Accounting & Reporting and Internal Audit and Process Improvements and automation Process as SME or team focused on the complete, accurate, and timely completion of Fixed Assets & Reporting and related activities within the General Accounting (GA) team. Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and procedures as well as external regulatory requirements with strong understanding of USGAP and FA Module.
Fixed Asset Accounting Operations
- Manage end-to-end fixed asset accounting processes.
- Ensure accurate capitalization, transfers, retirements, disposals, and depreciation of assets.
- Review and approve asset creation requests in compliance with accounting policies.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor Construction-in-Progress (CIP) accounting and capitalization activities.
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end fixed asset close activities.
- Review depreciation runs and accounting entries.
- Prepare and validate fixed asset reconciliations between subledger and general ledger.
- Support financial statement disclosures related to Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E).
- Analyze asset balances and investigate significant movements.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, local statutory requirements, and company accounting policies.
- Maintain SOX/internal control documentation and evidence.
- Identify control gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits through timely preparation of schedules and explanations.
Asset Lifecycle Management
- Govern the complete asset lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.
- Ensure appropriate asset classification and useful life assignment.
- Review impairment assessments and asset write-offs.
- Monitor leased assets and right-of-use assets where applicable.
Reconciliation & Data Quality
- Perform periodic asset register reviews and reconciliations.
- Resolve discrepancies between procurement, project accounting, and fixed assets records.
- Ensure asset master data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and track key performance metrics related to fixed asset processes.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare management reports on capital expenditures, depreciation, asset additions, and disposals.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to fixed assets.
- Provide insights into capital investment trends and asset utilization.
- Develop dashboards and report solutions for stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for fixed asset-related queries.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, Tax, Controllership, and Business Operations teams.
- Coordinate with external auditors, statutory auditors, and tax advisors.
- Provide guidance on fixed asset accounting treatments and policy interpretations.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Lead standardization and harmonization of fixed asset processes across entities.
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and testing activities (e.g., SAP, Oracle, S4-HANA,Trintech)
- Promote automation opportunities to improve efficiency and control.
SME Governance Responsibilities
- Serve as the functional expert for fixed asset accounting.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions to team members.
- Provide guidance during transitions, migrations, and transformation projects.
- Review complex accounting transactions and determine appropriate treatment.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Fixed Assets Accounting, PP&E, Depreciation, Capitalization, and Asset Retirement.
- Experience with IFRS, US GAAP, and internal controls.
- ERP knowledge (SAP, Oracle,).
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
- Analytical problem-solving and stakeholder management.
- Audit support and compliance expertise.
- A master’s degree in accounting, Finance or Commerce (MBA/Mcom) is must.
- Minimum 10to 12 years of experience in Fixed Assets Accounting and Record to Report GA.
- Experience leading teams in a shared service, GBS, or multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of working in SAP & FA Module.
