The opportunity
We’re looking for an SEO & AI Search Specialist to help grow the visibility and reach of TechnologyAdvice content across traditional search and emerging AI-powered discovery.
The SEO & AI Search Specialist will play a key role within our Audience Development team, partnering closely with editorial teams to identify organic growth opportunities, improve content performance, and evolve how we optimize content as audiences increasingly use platforms like Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity to discover information.
This role combines strong SEO fundamentals with a test-and-learn approach to Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). You’ll analyze search and AI visibility, identify content and technical opportunities, and turn data into practical recommendations our editorial teams can execute.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across TechnologyAdvice’s portfolio of B2B media brands, experiment with emerging approaches to AI search, and help shape how we measure and grow visibility as audience discovery continues to evolve.

What you'll do
- Monitor organic search performance across our portfolio and identify opportunities to grow traffic, rankings, visibility, and engagement.
- Conduct keyword, topic, SERP, competitor, and content gap research to inform editorial strategy and content planning.
- Identify opportunities for new content, content refreshes, consolidation, pruning, internal linking, and other SEO improvements.
- Partner closely with editorial teams to provide actionable SEO and AEO recommendations before and after content is published.
- Monitor how TechnologyAdvice brands and content appear across ChatGPT, Google AI experiences, Gemini, Perplexity, and other emerging platforms, identifying opportunities to increase brand mentions, citations, and visibility around priority topics.
- Recommend improvements to content structure, direct answers, entity clarity, expert sourcing, original research, tables, data, and other elements that can strengthen search and AI discoverability.
- Develop and execute SEO and AEO tests to understand which optimization tactics meaningfully impact performance.
- Track and report on SEO and AEO performance using metrics such as organic traffic, rankings, impressions, click-through rate, AI citations and mentions, topic and prompt coverage, share of voice, and referral traffic where measurable.
- Identify technical SEO issues related to crawling, indexing, structured data, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, and other factors that may affect organic visibility.
- Monitor changes in search algorithms, AI search experiences, and audience discovery behavior, translating those changes into practical recommendations and helping editorial teams incorporate evolving SEO and AEO best practices into their workflows.
Who you are
- 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with working knowledge of AEO and how AI-powered search is changing organic discovery.
- Strong understanding of technical, on-page, and content SEO fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms such as Semrush, Ahrefs, or similar tools.
- Experience conducting keyword research, SERP analysis, competitor analysis, content audits, and content performance analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data and complex search trends into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with generative AI and AI-powered discovery platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google’s AI search experiences.
- Understanding of emerging AEO concepts including AI citations, brand and entity authority, structured content, retrieval, and how AI platforms discover and surface information.
- Experience partnering with writers and editors to incorporate SEO recommendations into content strategy and production.
- Comfortable testing new approaches, evaluating results, and adapting recommendations as search and AI discovery continue to evolve.
- Ability to translate SEO and AEO data, trends, and recommendations into clear guidance for editorial and other non-technical partners.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across different brands, topics, and stakeholders.
