Senior Technical Program Manager

Overview

• The Decision Management program enables intelligent decision-based products through streaming analytics with the ability to govern decisions and manage outcomes with business agility.
• This program leverages business rules and AI engines, streaming big data platforms, in-memory data grids, APIs, cloud-native services, and modern user interfaces to deliver real-time decisions at global scale.
• This role is responsible for driving large-scale cross-functional programs, aligning engineering, product, data science, and business stakeholders, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
• The Technical Program Manager will provide leadership across multiple teams, help define execution strategy, identify and mitigate risks, and drive operational excellence across the program lifecycle.

Role

• Lead end-to-end execution of strategic technical programs across multiple engineering teams.
• Define program scope, objectives, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering Managers, Architects, Data Scientists, and Business stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
• Drive planning, execution, risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communication.
• Establish and maintain program governance, reporting, and executive-level status updates.
• Facilitate technical discussions and support architectural decision-making across teams.
• Identify program risks early and drive mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate platform modernization, cloud migration, AI/ML enablement, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Lead Agile planning activities, including roadmap reviews, PI planning, sprint tracking, and release coordination.
• Monitor program health, delivery metrics, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
• Ensure alignment with security, compliance, reliability, and quality standards.
• Foster collaboration and drive continuous improvement across engineering and product organizations.
• Support incident management, postmortem reviews, and execution of corrective actions when required.


Essential Knowledge / Experience

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience managing large-scale distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, enterprise applications, and modern engineering architectures.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Strong experience in program planning, roadmap management, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
• Experience working with Agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and platform operations.
• Experience with cloud technologies
• Experience tracking and reporting program metrics, KPIs, and operational health indicators.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presentations.
• Experience managing technical dependencies across engineering, product, infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Experience using project and program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.

Desirable Skills

• Experience delivering AI/ML, data platform, or advanced analytics programs.
• Knowledge of business rules technologies such as IBM ODM/ILOG.
• Experience with distributed data platforms, event-driven architectures, and in-memory data grids (GemFire, Redis, etc.).
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Experience managing cloud migration, platform modernization, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, secure software development practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Agilist, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.
