What you will do:

• Design and develop mechanical subsystems, assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and fluid handling components for Life Sciences instruments, including chromatography systems, filtration products, and bioreactors, ensuring successful execution from concept development through verification, validation, and production release
• Create production-ready mechanical design deliverables, including 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, tolerance stack-up analyses, Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change documentation, and technical reports to support manufacturing and product lifecycle management.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Systems, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Service teams to develop robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective product solutions that meet customer, business, and regulatory requirements. Participate in end-to-end product development activities, including concept development, feasibility studies, risk assessments, prototype builds, verification and validation testing, design transfer to manufacturing, and ongoing product support and sustainment.
• Perform engineering analyses, design reviews, risk assessments, and structured root cause investigations to drive improvements in product performance, reliability. Manage product lifecycle activities, including configuration management, BOM control, engineering change management, design documentation, obsolescence mitigation, cost and quality optimization and cross-functional product sustainment throughout the commercial product lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with Design History File (DHF) requirements and maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready design documentation throughout the product development lifecycle. Support internal and external audits by providing DHF evidence and demonstrating compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements and work with Product Data Management (PDM) systems to create, maintain, and release Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production and manufacturing. Ensure BOMs and product data comply with design control, regulatory, and quality management system (QMS) requirements.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of complex equipment, laboratory instruments, fluid handling products, or related electromechanical systems, with a proven track record of delivering products from concept through commercialization.
• Strong expertise in industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent) and the creation of manufacturing-ready documentation, including engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analyses, BOMs, and engineering change orders (ECOs/ECRs).
• Demonstrated experience applying engineering fundamentals, design analysis, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and structured problem-solving methodologies to develop reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective products along with leading mechanical products from concept through prototype development, design verification, iterative refinement, manufacturing transfer, and production release, working closely with systems, electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills, fostering effective collaboration across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.  Act as a self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive tasks to successful completion with minimal supervision. Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear technical documentation, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Hands-on experience in the design, development, build, and testing of mechanical systems for Life Sciences applications, including liquid handling systems, filtration equipment, fluidic assemblies, bioreactors, chromatography instruments, and other laboratory platforms.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), engineering change management, manufacturing processes, and product development within regulated environments, ensuring design control, configuration management, compliance, and successful product sustainment.
• Demonstrated expertise in leveraging advanced engineering analysis and simulation methodologies, including FEA, CFD, vibration analysis, tolerance and timing analyses, and reliability engineering techniques to drive design optimization, performance improvements, risk reduction, and product validation.
